Another unique and interesting McMenamins property. Will definitely come back to stay here. Too much to explore in the short visit. Just went to explore and get the passport stamps. A hotel with restaurants and other activities. All in a redone school. Art work around the hotel is like going to a gallery. The staff were very accommodating and friendly.

I've been hearing about McMenamins for years and finally had the chance to visit during a business meeting in Portland. I was enchanted by the facility, which is a converted old school, reminiscent of places I attended as a child. I went with a large group who had called ahead. We arrived and were to be directed to the Boiler...

I love Kennedy School! In fact I love most things McMenamin's, but sleep evaded me. 33rd St. is very busy and several people travel the halls at night. The soaking pool is very popular with neighbors, as well as guests. We had great meals and beer in the Courtyard restaurant & Cypress Room.

By far the most original and interesting hotel I've ever stepped foot in. This is an old school that has been converted into a theme hotel. Everything here plays on the school theme, from the rooms, bars, restaurant and most importantly the decor. There is charm and character all over, the floors and stairs creak like the hotel from the...

My boyfriend and I spent one night here on a trip we took through Oregon and Washington. It was actually the last night of our trip before flying out of Portland. We had so much fun! Such a unique spot-each room is different and the who vibe of the place is unlike anywhere else I've ever stayed. This is an...

I could have spent all day here! There is so much fun and charm around every corner. We spent an afternoon drinking amongst the many bars, wandering the grounds outside and inside, and soaking in the pool. Note they do not provide towels, but they do have open cubbies that you can pop your clothes into when tubbing. Expect to...

I'd never encountered something like this - an old school renovated into an entertainment attraction complete with multiple bars and eateries like the Detention or Honors Room, a theatre, a live performance space and even a hot pool. (and you can take your drinks in plastic cups). We had a fun evening perusing the place plus an hour in the...

After 2 nights in a chain hotel we decided to bail out early and stay somewhere uniquely Portland. The Kennedy School did not disappoint!!! As soon as you walk in the door you are transported to another world! With a slight Harry Potter-esque vibe! A choir singing in the community room, gathering in the cigar bar, guys brewing beer, a...

Stayed for a recent business meeting. The hotel has been created in an old elementary school. The gym was an event room, the boiler room was a 2 level bar, and there are guest rooms created out of classrooms. I stayed in the English wing, which were not part of the original school. Rooms wet comfortable, but have no TV's....

This place was so much fun! We came to take a salt water dip in the soaking pool and ended up exploring the property for several hours before actually making it into the pool. We were celebrating a friends birthday and one of the most unique parts, for us, was the small cigar lounge. We had a great time sipping...
