This hostel is a small cozy cute one. The vibe is very relaxed and the staff very welcoming and helpful. Free breakfast every day till 10am!! Hawthorne street is great, a lot of bars and restaurant and downtown is just a 20min bus ride. The bus stop is just in front of the hostel. A tv room with netflix is...

Stayed here over the weekend and was rather surprised at this hostel. I usually avoid HI Hostels as they always contain strange guests (children etc.) and have daft rules (no drinking alcohol) but this hostel was nice. The rooms are big, clean with comfortable beds and plenty of bathrooms and showers. The location is out of Downtown but all the...

Portland's Hawthorne hostel is most definitely one of the bets hostels I've ever stayed in. It's a really small hostel with a big concern for the environment. The hostel has a really homely feel. The hostel is located on Hawthorne Blvd which is the coolest street ever, filled will awesome stores and cafes, including some of the best thrift stores...

This was my first time staying at a hostel, and I'm so glad I chose Hawthorne. It's in a great location, close to a main bus route & a quick bike ride to downtown/pearl district etc. The whole place was very clean with a warm, homey bohemian feel. Bathrooms were clean and I never had to wait longer than a...

Stayed here 3 nights and had a great time. Bathroom facilities were basic but always clean, and the bedroom was very comfortable - though I was sharing with some older women who insisted the lights be turned off at 10pm!! The location is great, I walked into the centre once but you have to cross over the river and I...

Stayed for 3 nights in March 2015. Clean hostel, everyone was very polite, staff was very courteous and helpful. Great atmosphere, and a great, quiet neighborhood that is not too far from Safeway (and breweries ;) ) I would return to this again

The hostel is an old house on one of the main streets in SE Portland. The room consisted of a queen bed and bunk beds. It was spacious and clean. The washroom and shower was just across the hall. The people who ran the hostel were friendly and welcoming. Coffee and cereal or pancakes were offered for breakfast in the...

Travelled down to Portland from Canada for a few days, which included Memorial Day, and so cheap options were kind of limited. I usually give Hostels a wide berth but am glad I gave this a go Great location - took me less than 15 minutes from the Union Station. Very easy to get around Portland from here be it...

Found it to be a great stop over place to stay, it's located in a quieter part of town, but buses go into the city centre not too far away, close to bars and coffee shops too. I enjoyed exploring that part of the city, everyone in the hostel was very friendly and room/shower facilities were adequate for a short...

Only stayed here one night on my way to Washington but found it to be clean and comfortable. Desk staff was friendly and helpful. The place is old and gives the impression of a hippie pad, which fits in perfectly with the surrounding area. On site parking is limited but parking available in nearby residential neighborhood. Lots of craft beer...
