My room had the LOUDEST AC I've ever experienced. I had to turn it off during phone calls and zoom meetings because the roar kept me from hearing people. It kept me up all night. When I turned it off, the traffic noise and plane noise came in as if I were outside on the street. My room was on the fourth floor, so I can't imagine what the lower floors are like. There was absolutely no sound insulation. The AC was loud enough to drown out all other noise, which can be either a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how you look at it. The room was small. There are only fast food outlets nearby, no real restaurants.
Stayed here 7 nights to sightsee and attend a convention and got a good rate for the extended stay. Less than a 5 minute walk to the convention center which made it easy to come back during breaks. Nice sized room with very comfortable beds. No regular housekeeping-they said due to COVID but more likely due to short staffing but that was ok-I requested they come up in the middle of the stay to empty the garbage and replenish toilet paper and they also left me more towels that I didn't really need but appreciated. Ate breakfast once-very nice buffet and dinner once-limited menu but tasty and quick and had a few drinks in the bar a couple evenings. Not much as far as dining close by-a weird version of Red Robin, Denny's, Burgerville, McDonalds and Wendys. About a 15 minute walk to more options which is ok during daylight but we took an Uber back after dark because of the homeless situation which made my daughter and I a little wary. The staff was all outstanding-Portland has some of the friendliest people I've ever met. Appreciated the umbrellas available to borrow-I could have left mine at home! We didn't have a car but it's $32 for secure underground garage valet parking and the valets were always on duty. We had a very comfortable, enjoyable, safe stay.…
Took the TriMet MAX train from the airport to Convention Center. Easy 3 block walk on MLK Blvd. Stayed in a suite because we invited friends (who also attended the same 5 day convention) to visit us. Had to ask for housekeeping the second day; that was the only time they came except one other time just to empty the trash can. Plenty of towels. Asked for coffee and cups at reception with no problem. Friendly staff. Clean building and grounds.
First, the valet was unable to answer basic questions about parking. Then when we gave our keys, he loudly asked & repeated our name & room number in front of strangers. Front desk was unhelpful when asked about an open bar or good restaurant and theirs was not open yet. The hotel restaurant food selection looked very uninspired, & it was not open when we arrived at 4. We came to Portland for dinner & a show, the show was going to be very special, we wanted the same for dinner. Called the Hyatt & they gave us a good recommendation, the Metropolitan, 2 blocks away. I repeat, nothing from the Courtyard. The room: biggest issue was the a/c. Blasted air out very noisily. Very strong & noisy. Couldn’t be near the blast. Noise was waking us at night. Like an engine starting up. Rm 506, or 503. Then in the morning, cleaners stood outside our door (with do not disturb sign on it) & talked on their walkie-talkies. It was loud. Not up to Marriott standards…
We stayed for 5 days over the Thanksgiving holiday and had a great stay. Nick in maintenance helped with a minor issue, Martha helped with a door issue, Fredo makes a killer omelette, and Juana was the best bar tender ever. Our stay couldn’t have been better. Thank you so much for making it a special stay for us.
Conveniently located to so many things! The convention center is just 3 blocks away. Walking distance to Moda center (Trailblazers) and BART to name a few. The rooms are nice and updated fairly recently. The bar is open as is the restaurant. The menu is limited, but fast service and great value for breakfast. (I didn’t eat dinner here though) The only parking available is street parking or valet parking, which is confident, but $32 per night. Front desk staff are very helpful. I would stay here again.
This was my first visit since the COVID pandemic began, and I am relieved to report that this property remains an excellent place to stay while attending an event at the Oregon Convention Center. My room was clean and in good repair. There was a limited breakfast and dinner menu, Breakfast was served in the dining room and dinner was served in the bar. The food was well prepared and served promptly. This hotel is located in a fine dining desert, so the hotel restaurant is your best bet unless you head into downtown. The hotel is only four blocks from the Convention Center MAX station, so it is easily accessible by public transit from the airport and the AMTRAK station.
Had a great time staying at the Marriott for a weekend of exploring Portland and nearby wine country. The hotel location enables a safe 5 min or less walk to a number of restaurants, coffee shops, stores, and most importantly - several different bus routes and a tram/metro stop. Portland has incredible public transportation, and this hotel puts them all at your fingertips. For the hotel property: All the staff are very courteous, the rooms and common areas are kept very clean, and the rooms were up to date and clean. Would recommend and will stay here again.
Room was perfect.very clean the bed was the best nights sleep I have had ever at any hotel. it was a cold evening when i stayed and the temperature in the room when i got there was perfect along with the rest of the atomsphere in the hotel. the staff extremely friendly and helpful. highly recommenf.
The room did not look clean. I got really sick when I saw something on my pillow. It turned out to be a breath right strip! I just knew the room looked dirty. There was also a smell. I complained to the desk. They did not offer anything. I would never go back to this hotel. One more thing, the towels are so rough. Just an awful disappointment. Stay clear
