Worst hotel i have ever stayed in. Furniture is so scratched walls banged up. Paint foot prints on flooring. Fridge not level. I was afraid it was going to fall out of the cabinet. Tile broken in bathroom by the toilet. Bed squeezed. The check in was very unprofessional. He was wearing sweats and smoking outside. We had to stand outside in the cold to be checked in. We weren't allowed in the lobby. I am praying the bed has no germs.
This hotel serves the convention center in Portland. It has a free parking. The basics of the room were clean. Not the details. The furniture was scheduled for replacement 10 years ago... No breakfast room and no nearby places to eat. The area populated by tent people. Stay very alert and focus. There was a Seven-eleven very near by but all barricaded and with the sign "by appointment only" (for real) !!!!!!!!!!! One star is when you walk out. This was a two star venue.
We chose this hotel because of location and we could bring our dog. It was the worst hotel we ever stayed at! The sheets were stained. It is so disgusting and run-down! Getting into the toilet / shower part of the bathroom requires you to straddle the toilet. Just a horrible place!
The staff was lovely. However the rooms were dumpy, breakfast was disappointing, location in dicey part of town...all for $149.00 on a Saturday overnight. The carpet was old and dirty, rooms noisy, large homeless camp across the street.
Well it is a Shilo. Easy to get to, easy parking although there is a homeless encampment across the road form the car park, so watch your belongings. Carpets are dirty throughout, rooms dark and tired. If you only get what you pay for shop around. Staff were nice. handy 7-11 around the corner, and only a 5 min walk from trolley terminus.
Why this place is still open is beyond me! It is dirty; from the hair on the bathroom floor & tub to the stained couch & carpet and scratched furniture and gouged holes in the walls. The staff seemed oblivious to the condition of the place.
I was horrified when we pulled into the car park and spotted a “ camp “ of vagrants . My first thoughts were that I didn’t want to stay there but we didn’t have much choice that short notice . To be fair , it’s a common sight throughout Portland we were to discover . Very off putting Room was clean , basic and extraordinarily big as if it’s been a family room . Decor a bit tired Breakfast basic Staff were very friendly
This is a reasonable motel for anyone attending a meeting and the convention center. It is walking distance to the center and to a number of restaurants. The motel was clean and comfortable but badly in need of upgrading and maintenance. We requested a repair to our in-room refrigerator, but no one ever responded to the request. The continental breakfast was very basic; the addition of some bagels and toaster french toast might be a plus. Unfortunately, the convention center isn't in the best part of the city.
Was a little different from other Shilo Inns I’ve started at. Was a little worn, but clean. Staff was super nice and very helpful at suggesting restaurants. Was sad to have street people right out the front door but looking around Portland, that is everywhere, they didn’t bother you though. Was a great location to walk to the Moda Center for a concert. And right up the street was Lloyd’s Center.
The room was big enough and was kept clean well, the bathroom was also clean and big. But to ask 35 dollar for an early incheck of one hour, closing the reception at 11 pm, and no place to stay except the room was very poor. The breakfast was really bad. just until 9 am, even in the weekends, two days no fruit, one day no coffee and very little choice. I brought my own stuff (naturel yoghurt and fruit). The wifi was not relaieble, that is not good if you have to check in for the plain.
