My husband and I booked this trip months ago for our anniversary. Upon arriving to our room the blinds were broken, we called the front desk and told them to make sure we weren’t charged for it, the lady at the front desk said that she would note it on our account and had asked if we needed someone to come clean it up, we said no it’s ok it won’t be in our way. The carpets were filthy, there was water left in the coffee maker, when we walked in the bathroom in the corner behind the door was a wad of hair. The queen sized bed was super stiff and had no comforter or blanket, only a sheet and a light decorative sheet over top. We aren’t ones to complain so we didn’t complain about any of that besides the blinds because we wanted to make sure we weren’t charged for them! We should have had them come up right away and made them give us a new room. My mom also had her dog on the property for a total of maybe ten minutes and we got charged a 300 dollar fee. I was pretty upset. I called the office and they didn’t even have anyone there that could help me. I’m hoping someone contacts me tomorrow to get my money refunded. If not then I will not be spending any more money at this place again. 400 dollars to be disappointed had another 300 dollars for something that wasn’t my fault. Very frustrated!

When we returned to the room after a nice day outside, we found that the room has no heat. The thermostat and the heater on the wall don't function. We found two heaters in the closet, one of which is broken, and the other extremely noisy. The blanket on the bed was thin, and the extra blanket in the closet looks dusty. The temperature indoors was in the 50s. We ended up using a heater and a blanket from our van to survive the night. The office was closed early so we had no place to ask for help. The room was dirty. There were silverfish in the bathroom, and set-in food crud on the table. It's as if they didn't even try to clean. The manager apologized but said she couldn't compensate us because we booked through an online agency. She offered us discounts in the future, which I'm pretty sure we will not be using. Pro: the view is amazing. The amenities including the BBQ, crab dock and crab-cooking station are nice.

I typically don’t leave poor reviews but I had an exceptionally bad experience at the embarcadero. I would avoid staying here! I booked through Expedia a King Suite to sleep 3. The website for the embarcedo showed that King Suites could sleep 2-4 adults and expedia showed the same but that is not the case at all. Very misleading and I would NOT have booked if I had known. They “upgraded” us to a room that fits our needs which matched the description of what I initially booked. Even though I requested a non smoking room there was cigarette butts all over the balcony. The room was outdated, run down and dirty, it had thin walls with loud dogs below us. To top it off there were no blankets on the bed so we had to request them and they brought them up in trash bags. I was tempted to sleep in my car. The front desk was extremely condescending and argumentative, especially the office manager. Please save your money and your vacation and stay somewhere nicer. Definitely not worth the price I payed.

Thank you for taking the time to review the Embarcadero, we appreciate all feedback from our guests as it gives us both areas where we are exceeding expectations and areas to work on. We apologize your last stay with us was not to the level we pride ourselves on and we encourage you to reach out to our Hotel Manager to find a resolution for the Embarcadero to earn your continued business. We are currently under new management and know that in time the Embarcadero will be the "place" to be in Newport again!
