The Whaler was everything I could have wished for. Our room on the third floor had a wonderful panoramic view of the ocean from our balcony - and the sound of the waves lulled me to sleep each night. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, providing us with suggestions for restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. The room was...

They have everything you need for a coastal getaway and walking distance to Nye beach food & fun. Bed was clean & comfortable. Hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly. We booked two adjacent rooms, as our folks were joining us and check-in was a breeze. We will make The Whaler our first choice for future visits to the Newport...

Am just about to pack up and leave this gem of a Motel having been for a swim in the pool, a dip in the hot tub and enjoyed a good quality help-yourself Motel-style breakfast. If that wasn't enough, yesterday afternoon we were on the small deck of our 2nd floor room (1st floor if you're from the UK) basking...

From The Whaler it is a short stroll to the Nye Beach neighborhood for shopping and dining. Rooms are simple but quiet and clean. Every room has...

The room itself was fine, nothing fancy but clean and comfortable and the view from the balcony to the seafront was lovely. The complimentary breakfast wasn’t much...

My family of four stayed at this hotel in mid-August. We made a good choice, thanks to other trip advisor reviews. It is located right across the road from the beach and not too far from the highway. The view was fantastic as was the cool breeze coming in from the small patio. No need for a/c; I was actually...

Great view. Recently stayed in August 2012 and had a third floor view. Wow, what a view. Enjoyed the balcony and beach access. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Great price for the room. I loved that the hotel provided a recycle bin. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great location - not far from the historic Nye Beach area...
