My husband and I were planning a trip to the west coast from Texas and decided to book a room at the Whaler Motel because of the good reviews. We were not disappointed! Our room was spotless and the view was incredible! The beach is just steps away. The front desk ladies were wonderful to us and were knowledgeable about...

The whaler is a nice motel on the beach, with clean rooms and a terrible front desk lady named Karen. She is rude, unaccommodating and hostile. We called ahead and got approved for a noon check-in. When we arrived at 12:20 Karen argued and told us our room wasn't ready. She became irritated when we asked for another room -...

We had upper floor rooms, which looked out to the ocean and the beach. The beach was just across the road. The King bed was very comfortable, and the place was very clean. It was quiet except for the sound of the ocean waves. There was coffee making facility in the room. It was really good value as breakfast was included...

Picked this hotel for our family weekend stay based on pool and continental breakfast. My kids loved the pool. The room was very clean, beautiful view of ocean, quick trail down to the beach, and great location next to a fun city park for my kids and short walk to great restaurants. At high tide, the beach is pretty limited...

We stayed here last June when we flew in for a wedding. After reading the reviews I booked our room. We were on the second level ocean side. What a lovely place! Even if it rained the whole time. Nice and clean, very quiet and we enjoyed the pool and spa which we had all to ourselves. Wish it had...

Great little motel! Very clean, and it was dog friendly(huge plus). Nice pool and spa. Good view of the ocean and it was very easy to access the beach from the motel. I loved the electric fireplace. Will definitely stay here again!

Travelling down the Oregon Coast on a spur of the moment trip. Came to Newport with no lodging reservations, checked the Internet and found a few options, this being one. After checking around this seemed like the best option and with a pleasant request we where moved to the top floor for no extra charge, now that is customer service,...

After exploring prices of other hotels in the area, the whaler offered by far the best deal. The room was clean, and provided an excellent sea view. All the staff were friendly. The pool and hot tub were nice, and we met a customer who had been returning to the same hotel every year for 10 years! The beach was...

I stayed in a small, clean, room on the 3rd floor with the ocean across the street. When I arrived, it was so foggy that you could hardly even see the ocean. Luckily it cleared up and at 2am I awoke to something out of a Maxwell Parrish painting: moonlit sea, beautiful dark blue sky filled with stars. The next...

I'll just start off with my only negative comment about this hotel - the pillows. Maybe picky, but small, lumpy pillows are annoying. Next time I'll just bring my own like I usually do on car trips. Otherwise a very good hotel, views from the 3rd floor are great. Nice to have the microwave and mini-fridge set up in a...
