This is a 2 star hotel. Really outdated. Ocean view in prime location. Room was clean. Kudos to staff. Shower pressure was strong. Front desk managers were helpful and kind. Carpet was bunching up in spots. Furniture is old and heavily used.

It has a Super 8 vibe to it. Don’t get me wrong, I have willing stayed at a Super 8 and I know what to expect. I did not expect a Super 8 vibe to this place. All in all it was clean just a little outdated/run down. I would consider another place with by the beach next time.

This hotel needs some serious updating. I have stayed at numerous Shilo Hotels, and this was by far the worst. We will not be returning. We paid over $180 for one night. This is not a $180 per night room or stay! There was mold/scum on the shower ceiling, rust stains on the floor around the toilet, the porcelain on the toilet tank lid was broken, the toilet seat needed to be replaced, the chairs that go with the table in the room were covered in stains, the TV resolution was grainy/poor, the walls of the room or dirty, and I would have to say that the worst part of it all… which we didn’t notice until we woke up the next morning… was the huge stain on the sheets that were on the bed our kids slept in!! That’s just the room. Elevator buttons were broken. The pool is super small… and it’s supposed to be from 3 feet to 8 feet however, the 3 foot area of the pool is only where the steps are to get in. But as soon as you step off the bottom step, the bottom of the pool immediately drops. There really is no is no 3 feet. That pool is a drowning hazard for kids who can’t swim very well. The towels for the pool are big enough to wrap around a small child however, they are too small for older kids and adults. Their website photos show photos of a restaurant. However, their restaurant has been closed since last year. They also no longer have a second pool open.

The hotel was clean and close to the beach but , the beds were so uncomfortable and old mattress… Will not stay there again… I was also disappointed that the hotel didn’t have a continental breakfast , due to it was closed and the restaurant they had was as well … The parking was a little limited for such a big hotel …

This hotel should be closed. The hotel is outdated, filthy, and extremely understaffed. None of the doors required a key card to enter the hotel because they were not working. The restaurant is closed as were both pools which was quite the opposite of the website pictures and descriptions. There were mattresses in the hallways, over flowing garbage cans and stained bed sheets. When you look at the website pictures be assured It is exactly the opposite.

We reserved a pet friendly room for 3 nights. We have 2 chihuahuas. There is a 25$ night pet fee non refundable. There are two buildings for the Shilo. The pet friendly side is the old decrepid smelly side. There is no grassy area out side this building to take your dogs to do their business. We had no maid service the entire time we were there. Took our own towels off the maids cart. Rooms are very old and outdated. Nice ocean view and that’s about it. In addition the restaurant was “for lease”. Only coffee available in the building was the crappy mr coffee pods in the room. The beach was lovely and we enjoyed our touristy things in Newport. Don’t recommend.

For $215/night we are in a sketchy, run down dump. I've taken some pictures to illustrate and this is far from everything. You can hear every word and footstep from people above you and in the hallway. Pipes are rusted and leaking all over the parking garage. The elevator lobby in the parking garage is supposed to be secured and supposedly you have to open it with your room card. Nope. It's broken and the door is wide open. Walls are dirty (god only knows what that brown substance is), carpet stained and ripped, bathroom door all busted up, bathroom tiles cracked, windows in the hallway are basically disintegrating, screen is bent. It's a beautiful ocean view, however it's marred by discoloration, weird spots all over and seagull poop. One of the light switches in our room doesn't work. There is a fan to plug in, which we were happy about because we sleep with a fan at home for white noise. As soon as we plugged the fan in my daughter asked if it was going to explode because it was making a godawful noise. The heater is one of those ancient long metal ones along the floor. It is all rusty. I'm seriously pissed and want my money back. I'm planning on posting this review as many places as I can. Nasty. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Only stayed for one night, but I was welcomed and attended to like a loyal regular customer. Shelly at the front desk, in particular, was super helpful and cheery, and easily accommodated all of my requests. The room was spacious and clean, the view was spectacular, and the location super convenient. Yes, the hotel is a bit on the older side, but it’s a great value, it’s clean and safe, and literally right on the beach. Thanks again, Shelly!

About the only thing that this hotel has going for it is it's ocean view other than that it's old, it's dirty, the outside is dirty, And there is no air conditioning!!!!!!! The bed was OK but the carpet's dirty it's just old........ it feels abandoned. And with everything it was $365 for 1 night on A Tuesday what a rip off!!!!

Wow, ignore the comments that this place is OK, it’s a real sh!thole, excuse the language! The hotel is filthy, extremely dated and seriously neglected in all aspects! Yes it’s on on Oregon Coast, but can you see through those dated and foggy windows, if you can, can you see the lovely garden hose on the 30 foot of seagull poop covered roof? Need to do laundry? I wouldn’t walk into that place? We’ve stayed in some lower end hotels, but this place was the worst ever and we paid $287, unbelievable! The owners don’t care as they must be making money hand over fist, they surely put ZERO money back into it! And don’t let them say any crap about worker shortages or anything like that, the carpets in the halls, stairs, etc haven’t been vacuumed for days but they can still take your $300! Completely incomprehensible how this place is still operating!!!!!
