We stayed here because it was closest to the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museums we came to visit. We specifically wanted to see Howard Hughes' historical "Spruce Goose" amphibious plane.
Room was large and clean. It had a mini refrig and microwave. But no coffee in the room. One carafe was down in the lobby for free. We had efficient checkin and checkout at an ok rate. There was plastic sheeting in front of the counter. The lady at the desk behind the sheeting t bg ag checked us on and staffed for the evening, she was not wearing a mask Others at the hotel were. It was booked on Expedia.
Wifi was not secure and was often slow at connecting and buffering. It was free.
Parking was close and plentiful and also free.
The view out our room window was of the roof with air conditioning units. Hotel didnt look full but maybe it was, since we had a handicapped room and didnt request one. I wondered if we hot this view because we booked with a 3rd party instead of in person

Our stay was as expected. We reserved the family suite, which is really just an L shaped room with 1 King, 1 queen and a pull out sofa. The extra space is nice, but it does not provide a closed door extra room for the King. It met our needs just fine. It is certainly better than a standard two queen room, and given a decent rate we would book here again. I'm not sure there is really any other property in McMinville that can provide a better option for extra room for families. Kind of a bummer there is not a grab and go breakfast option, as they still are not serving breakfast due to COVID. Other reviews have pointed out how other chains have figured this out, not sure why Red Lion has not. McDonalds is right next door, but that obviously is an extra cost as well.
Indoor pool, laundry room (pay with coins) all located on first floor with vending machines. Beer, wine other things for sale out front, but nothing fancy. You get what you pay for at this property.
Will stay here again in the future and look forward to post COVID amenities being restored.

Rooms were nice. Garbage removal of waste cans outside the doors was definitely NOT a priority. Disgusting. Front staff worst I’ve ever seen in years is staying in hotels. They were not helpful and were unfriendly and did not appear to like people. IOne of the front desk personnel brought a stray cat inside the lobby and let it sit on the lobby furniture. Argh.

Hotel's Favourite
Very reasonable price, excellent breakfast with lots of choices, very friendly, hard working staff, especially in the breakfast room and desk. We have stayed there often. Apples and coffee in lobby, comfortable bed.

Good option. Dog friendly. All lawn areas where we walked our dog were mowed and clean of feces. Room was exceptionally clean, although it initially had a strong odor of cleaning solution which dissipated. Safe area.

This old hotel is not worth bringing your family too, the walls are paper thin. Just walking sounds like stomping. The rooms aged climate control sounds like a 1921 biplane, nice because the aviation museum is close by.
The breakfast room is small with a traditional continental setting except for the limited coffee availability nothing much more than a single room coffee maker.
Staff were very particular about your car license plate, so please have that information at the ready.
No fan in the restrooms within the rooms, showing the age of this hotel. Ive stayed at many of the Red Lion Hotels so My expectation wasn’t to high but I can say without my discount I would not have chosen this location after my recent experience. I wouldn't recommend this location for families.
There was a high point, though the indoor pool was a success as my oldest grandson learned to swim.
I hope this provides a bit of insight to anyone who wants to stay here, but in McMinnville, beggars cant be choosers, very limited accommodations are available so price gouging is in full season.

Please accept our apologies Nomad. It does not look like you had the guest experience we like our guests to have. I know it has been some time since you visited our property and I'm happy to tell you we are under new management and new ownership. We were aware of some things that needed improving immediately and we have been making changes every week, (a few quick things, new Keurig's for all rooms, we got rid of the giant Keurig they expected all guests to use in the breakfast room. Breakfast is now its own department and has its own team to ensure a great continental breakfast for every guest. Yes, that means it's a real continental breakfast now with many choices. Additional training for all employees has also taken place as our standards are higher than what they have previously been.) I am not too sure why the fan was not working in your room. All of our guest restrooms have a fan but since we have a new maintenance team, any issues like the one you have experienced would be promptly dealt with so you can have a great stay like you would expect. I hope you will give us another try on your next visit to McMinnville. Thank you for your feedback and we look forward to seeing you again in the future.

The hotel is very close to the Evergreen Air and Space Museum which is why we stayed there.
The hotel was clean and comfortable, and about half the price of the Comfort Inn across the street,
The negatives are that they do not have a free breakfast and there are no in room coffee makers,
The former is mitigated by the fact that McD shares a parking lot, As for the latter, they do keep a pot of coffee in the lobby, but it was pretty stale when I got a cup at 5:30 AM. In room coffee makers are so ubiquitous that it did not occur to me that here might not be one.
All in all an excellent value.+

Stayed 2 nights June 2022. Was a Delux room and ended up costing $221 per night, wow. Was a weekend and found out it was local HS Graduation weekend. Room was as expected, nothing outstanding. The towels were well used as they were very thin. First night discovered there was only one bar of soap in the room at the sink. this for two people to wash and shower. Room was clean and outfitter as expected. One Light between the beds with two bulbs for reading. Kind of dim as it was about 12" higher than the bed. Sink was in the bed room, bath room had the toliet and shower. That room was so small that they had to locate the light switch out side as there was not enough room for buliding code spacing. Had an exhaust fan that must have come from the Evergreen Museum airplane parts room. Although the booking said breakfast, there was none. Mgr said he wasn't ready, although I had stayed in another Red Lion in Kelso WA a few weeks earlier and breakfast was set up. OH, no alarm clock. Will try other options next time.

Due to COVID restrictions there was no kettle, no tea or coffee. The fridges in our rooms were very noisy and clicked on every hour during the night. We didn’t sleep well. Rooms and decor were dated and for the money, this was quite poor value. We would not stay here again.

Nasty place !! stay anywhere else! The employees would not do anything to respond to a guest that was smoking cigarettes directly next to us, as the smoke was coming under the shared door between the two rooms. The employee said that they called the people and they said it was smell like that when they showed up but there is literally smoke coming from underneath the door while my 13 year-old and nine year-old kid are in this room.

Dear Daniel, Our deepest regrets that you did not have a pleasant experience at our hotel. We are truly sorry for the anguish that was caused by what you had perceived to be cigarette smoke coming from underneath your door. We know that with children in the room this can be deeply unsettling. However, we had not only our front desk manager but also our head housekeeper both enter the room in question at the time that you had said smoke was pouring from underneath your door, and they could not find any evidence. The nice couple from the room next to you graciously let our staff in to check this complaint, even though they were still clearly in bed sleeping at the time that we had knocked. Respectfully, there was nothing that our staff could do after investigating since there was no smell of smoke coming from the room, as well as any ashes, or cigarette butts. If there is no evidence, we cannot rightfully charge someone a smoking fine. I am aware that the front desk manager was currently on a phone call with another guest and was not able to immediately assist you in investigating the concern. Even though it was only a few minutes that you had to wait for us to come and check, I know that can seem like an awfully long time when you are waiting, and I am truly sorry for the inconvenience. We do not want you to think that this was staff not doing anything as they would have been more than happy to assist you right away if they weren't finishing up with another guest first. I am sorry if you think we do not care for guest safety. Guest safety is our #1 top priority, though, which is why we called the police to help us assist in this matter as threatening a guest next door and banging on the doors and walls is a concern for guest safety and we will take the necessary actions to ensure that every guest feels safe. We apologize that you could not enjoy your stay due to these events. We wish you the best of luck in finding more suitable lodging elsewhere. Thanks again and have a great day!
