The only option in town, except for sterile chains. A fun and funky vibe in a great downtown location, but its historic charm is also its downfall. Quite noisy, with hallway sounds and plumbing to other rooms passing across the ceiling. (Fortunately, they provide earplugs on the nightstands.) Paid about $60 extra for a small private bathroom with a plastic... More

I wrote sort of the basic review earlier so this is more of an update on that review with the same 5 star rating. When I return to McMinnville Oregon this will be my home away from home. I love Mac. I always have and I've always missed it. You'll find me here when I'm not in my own house... More

A fun place to stay in the heart of Willamette Valley's wine country. This is a McMenamins property, a company that is known to restore old historical buildings into hotels and restaurants. You will feel as though you went back many decades as you enter this fine old brick building. Our room looked out to the main street of McMinnville... More

My second McMennamin's stay and first at Hotel Oregon. It just fit the bill for what we were doing meeting friends visiting Oregon from New Jersey. Easy and friendly 2pm check in on Sunday afternoon. Plenty of parking (free on the street all day on Sunday and thru 11 am on Monday). My room was small, clean and was the... More

This is my second stay at Hotel Oregon. My first stay was a little better as I wasn't traveling with children. This time I was traveling with my three children: 12, 9 and 6 and we stayed in Room 409: queen bed with shared bathroom. Front Desk staff was friendly on check-in. We had been swimming all day at Wings... More

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that your stay was not as you hoped. I appreciate all of your comments, and truthfully, our hotels may not be for everyone. I am sorry to hear our decor frightened your children, although I am glad to hear the staff tried to help cheer them up. Although our hotels... More

The people working here are fantastic. They are there to help and please their guests and they do a great job. This was a great hotel. The rooms are a bit small, but overall very clean and very well maintained. We were very pleased with our room. I asked for a rollaway and they brought it right in. We had... More

charming renovated hotel. it's surprisingly large and quiet, all the rooms are renovated with unique murals. The only inconvenience is that there was no coffee/hot water service in any of the rooms, we brought our own tea kettle. Many of the rooms have shared bathrooms ( down the hall) those with ensuite baths are small, but perfectly comfortable. check out... More

Was here in July for my best friends Bachelorette Party. We went down to the pub in the basement that night and had the BEST time. The music was awesome, and LIVE! The bartender made the night, not just for us, but for everyone down there. I would have to say, we were the life of the party. The next... More

Not only are the rooms streetside, but the HVAC kicks up an all night racket. When we complained we were told "well, it is a historic building". That's all well and good, but $100+ for a tiny room with not even a chair, table or desk and airport level noise is hardly worth it.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay. Although we are a historic hotel, located right downtown in the middle of McMinnville, the location can be a double edged sword at time. The same excitement and availability to having great restaurants, tasting rooms, and shops all within easy walking distance, can have... More

Hotel Oregon is an iconic McMenamins property. Great old building, kitschy paintings and art, history a story, kooky rooms and restaurants tucked all over the place. For the price of a room, you get an adventure. You are unlikely to good night's sleep, however, as it seems all the rooms have a street-side window (at least both of ours did),... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
On McMinnville's charming, old main street, Hotel Oregon strikes an inviting pose - as it has since 1905. Once home to a restaurant and lounge, banquet hall, Greyhound bus depot, Western Union, soda fountain and beauty parlor, the handsome four-story building we call Hotel Oregon is a delightful destination in the heart of Oregon's wine country.Warm lighting in the first floor pub, cozy tables and an impressive 40-foot long back bar invite close conversation over the glint of a fresh pint or maybe a game of shuffle board in the Paragon room. Artwork and wall hangings inspire thoughts of the past and a trip to the subterranean bistro-style Cellar Bar or magnificent Rooftop Bar (with its breathtaking 360-degree view of the region) are a must for any visitor to the hotel. ... more   less
