We needed a pet-friendly place for an overnight at the coast on short notice -- which is rough in the middle of the summer when everything is booked and/or extremely expensive. We were able to book a pet-friendly room at the Spindrift just a few days short of arrival. It's an older motel, right on the main drag of Manzanita,...

what stands out most for me were that the sheets smelled sooo good, and the blankets were really soft and cozy to wrap up in. This place felt like a home, so much that we stayed an extra day not having planned on it! It had a couch, a dinning area, easy parking, its steps away from the beach and...

We stayed at the Spindrift Inn for one night on our way down the Oregon coast. Luckily we called just after someone else cancelled because with high season and a 10K on the beach everything was booked. Spindrift is a 50's-type motel which is nicely updated and very well maintained. We got the small room which was, indeed, very small....

Older but nice and clean motel. Good parking. Management hours are a little strange with no phone calls after 7PM. I hope a pipe does not burst. Nice bar with food across the street. It is a short walk to the beach. The staff was helpful and friendly. Manzanita it a hidden gem, a nice little beach town that is...

We were just using this as a stop over on a road trip. The motel was very adequate, clean, great staff, so so beds, and conveient to the beach. Great donut shop just around the corner. The price was reasonable for this area. It wasn't anything real special, but it worked out fine.

The Spindrift at first glance looks like an old motel that no one has even thought about modernizing, and if you want upscale amenities it's definitely not the place for you, but for a laid-back beach weekend it's ideal. The room was large, comfortable and clean, with a little kitchen area and free wifi. And it's extremely reasonable in price,...

Me and my wife stayed here for two nights and it was just great. The front desk staff was always helpful (even when we decided to add an extra night to our stay last minute). The location is perfect, right on the main street of Manzanita, just a block from the beach. This was a perfect stop for us during...

We were doing a two week road trip up the Oregon Coast to BC and back and just needed a rest stop. Spindrift was very inexpensive which alowed us to stay in more upscale places in cities. It was very clean, the beds and shower were fine, and they offer a nice array of DVDs free. We were in Manzanita...

The room was on the main road, an easy walk to the water and all the shops. The room was very small, with only enough room for one person to be moving around the room at once. There were stains on the comforter and chair. There was a large TV with DVD player and they have a supply of DVD's...

Spindrift was just what we needed for a little weekend get-away. Wonderful location, super close to a lovely beach, restaurants, great shopping... super nice staff, the bed's super comfy. I was a little daunted when we pulled up, because the building is motel-style and seemed a little janky, but as we settled in every little detail just added to the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Lovely, quaint, great rooms, inexpensive, a great location, and the people are friendly ... that’s how our guests describe Spindrift Inn. This cozy 14 room cottage-style rural inn is just a block from a 7 mile beach in Manzanita, on Oregon’s gorgeous North Coast. Mountains meet the sea, surrounded by two State Parks, forests and the Pacific Ocean. In our inn you will find no smoking, pillowtop beds, some suites, some kitchenettes, and some pet-friendly rooms (call ahead to be sure). Off the highway, Manzanita’s small commercial district is nestled among cabins and cottages - perfect to park and walkabout. There are shops with trendy clothing, natural food, and several restaurants serving fish en papillote to authentic Mexican. And the connection with Nature is superb ... you can re-fresh, rejuvenate and be re-inspired when you return home. Or stay forever (we did). Come visit us ... then you may say: "Spindrift Inn might not have a lot of street appeal, but thankfully the rooms, cleanliness, staff, location and price were all wonderful. We’ll definitely be back again." Owned and operated by local families since 1946. ... more   less
