We stayed for my birthday over the long 4th of July Weekend and couldn't have been happier. The Hiroshigi suite is beautiful! It's like having your own place. The Zen gardens so peaceful and the Japanese soaking tub a perfect end to a chillly day on the beach. We loved Mrs. Smigel who is so kind and friendly and so...

The Zen Garden Bed and Breakfast was one of the best places I've ever stayed. Mrs. Smigel was the kindest person from the moment she answered the phone to take our reservation, to the morning we left and she had a pleasant chat with us. Her communication was great. We knew everything about the area well before we arrived. I...

Dear mstricklin, Thank you for your very kind review; it was wonderful having you to stay and I hope you will be able to return and stay longer. The deer send their warm regards also; they take a great interest in the guests but they do not always let you see them! I am so glad they came to oversee...

My wife and I came all the way from Central Florida to Portland, and then out to the Oregon coast. While we found Cannon Beach a "bit of a madhouse" with too many people (though Ecola State Park is to die for), Manzanita proved to be our cup of tea. And there was the perfect place to stay - the...

We stayed for 4 days and enjoyed our stay very much. So peaceful, great breakfast, close to the beach (at this time of year, for great walks) and convenient for touring North or South from there. The hosts live upstairs and were present and helpful but discreet. We had some interesting conversations. We had the large suite (with plenty of...

The room is fine, if a bit small. Very clean and we'll cared for. Breakfast is fine. The owner is friendly and helpful. She replaced the feather pillows with non allergenic pillows and made sure to provide gluten free options for breakfast. It is a very short walk to the beach and a nice, quiet location.

Dear Debbie in Denver, Thank you for writing such a nice review. It is rewarding when people are happy with their stay. I hope you did know that the Bistro was available to you for your use at any time with the Zen Room; you do have a sitting and dining room with the Zen Room. I regret it is...

We chose the Zen Garden due to it's proximity to the state park, where we had friends staying over the July 4th weekend. It did not disappoint; we were able to walk to the park, and the beach access to the Zen Garden couldn't have been better. Breakfast was customized, timely, and tasty! The room was cozy and comfortable.

Dear Jeanine0907, Thank you for writing such a lovely review. I am very happy you liked the breakfast. A much-needed rest and retreat at the beach! The room was intimate, beautifully decorated and very calming. Delicious breakfast, with several choices, served in a lovely private dining area. We very much enjoyed talking with Mr. and Mrs. Smigal, who made us feel welcome and were very respectful of our privacy. We hope to return!
