There's a fair bit of signage when you first arrive signaling that staffing is short-handed during COVID. That said, the staff was wonderfully friendly. Being on a family roadtrip, we saw a number of hotels and breakfast spreads during our travels - and we must say - the breakfast crew was the most friendly, and the most accommodating! We appreciated how well organized the set-up was - clearly marked, and with the staff providing whatever our (early morning) hearts desired - and with a smile. We were disappointed by news of the pool being closed - wish it more more prominently mentioned on booking sites - but only blemish of our visit. Worth also noting that this hotel is not exactly in a desirable part of Klamath Falls. So, you'll want a car for your visit.

Hotel was nice and fairly new. Staff was nice, but they usually are if you treat them nice. Since we were here during the tail end of the COVID nightmare in May 2021, we were pleasantly surprised that they were maing an effort to provide the promised "breakfast" that many hotels say you're going to get, but then give you a bag with nothing you want in it. But this Holiday Inn actually had a nice staff person there in the breakfast area ready to dish you up your choices from their normal breakfast fare (eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, juices, coffee, tea, etc . And you could eat in the breakfast room or take it back to your room We chose to eat in the breakfast room and we were alone. Guess everyone else is still afraid of the COVID. Anyway, my only recommendation would be to get a room (if you can) with a higher number as the higher numbers are away from the street traffic. Unfortunately, we had a very low number like 203 and were very close to the street. But we just ran the contant fan all night to create a white noise and it worked pretty well. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

The time we spent at this hotel was not entirely dissatisfying. I must compliment them on the kindness of the staff and the nicely renovated facility. What did disturb me was the rate charged on my room. I booked the reservation online under the government employee discount. I am a government employee and have never had a problem using this discount. Upon arrival the desk staff asked if my reason for the government rate was directed related to something in Klamath Falls to which I replied no. The desk clerk then said I did not qualify for the discount and was charged a standard room rate. She stated that corporate IHG was scrutinizing the government discount more than in the past. Ironically, my next destination included a stay at another IHG property which I had no problem obtaining the government rate.

Hello Bananaslug556, Thank you for choosing to stay at our Holiday Inn Express Klamath Falls Central and taking the time to send us feedback. I understand the disappointment that your government employee rate was not honored at our hotel. We do offer discounts on our IHG properties. While most require that it is for official business stays, other properties allow the discount for leisure stays. At most times, this is a hotel policy. I have noted your concern and will be sharing the information with our hotel management for review and improvement needed on our end. We hope you will join us again in the future and impart a better stay. Safe travels, Deborah R. Case Manager IHGService

I wanted to take the time out of my trip to write up a quick review of this hotel, as it really stands out from others I have stayed in. This was pretty much the best basic, inexpensive hotel stay I've ever had. They got all the basics right. The room was large enough, it was clean and comfortable, modern, and had a good quality TV, a microwave oven, and a coffee maker. There were lots of electrical outlets, and multiple USB charging ports. There was a large desk to work at. Good air conditioning on a 100+ degree August day, too. But two very small things really made my day, and put this one in the exceptional category for me. In the shower, they had a wall-mounted dispenser for liquid soap, shampoo, and conditioner. This dispenser was full of plenty of each, so that even if I had been staying for a week, there would have been enough. I hate it when hotels just give you a tiny bottle of each... I never have enough! Or worse, some hotels don't provide any at all. So, this large provision of shower products was a big hit with me. The other thing was that there was a sign in the bathroom letting me know that if I happened to forget to bring something basic like a toothbrush or tooth paste, to just contact the front desk and they would provide it for free. We'll, sure enough, I left my tooth paste at home. That sign completely eliminated any worry for me. I walked down to the front desk, and they gladly handed over a free tube of toothpaste. Those two little things, plus the fact that all the basics were right, put my stay in Klamath Falls in the exceptional category.

Renovation (sounds like drilling) started early this morning and went continuously for two hours even though I complained about the noise. This renovation noise starts early in the morning, before breakfast. Obviously, you will not get any sleep if you come to this hotel because of the renovation and construction noise. The renovation workers are wearing ear protection headphones because their machines are so loud. Obviously, the hotel does not provide any noise protection device to hotel guests. This is a horrible, horrible, deceptive hotel. If you come here, you will not get any sleep, and you will feel harassed, annoyed, and angry all day.
