The Magnolia Inn is located about two short blocks from the downtown main street. It is on one of the major roads entering Jacksonville but noise was not an issue. There is parking on the side street. Our room and the kitchen area for breakfast was upstairs. The room itself actually had a bedroom, a sitting room and a bathroom. The sitting room has a single bed in it if you are traveling with a child or third person. The breakfast is a help yourself- they had set-out fruit bowls, coffee was made and cereals/tea are available. Orange juice and cook it yourself frozen waffles. During covid you are directed to seating on an outdoor deck.
Our room, Olivia, was handicap accessible (which we needed) and beautifully appointed - it had plenty of space for a wheelchair, a large walk-in shower, railings all around the bathroom, and surprisingly (I’ve never seen one before), a security viewing door hole at wheelchair level! We had an incredibly lovely visit!
The pros: very clean, very walkable to shops and restaurants, comfy beds, nice veranda, good parking. Cons: tiny rooms, street noise, "gourmet" breakfast not so "gourmet". We asked for milk with "breakfast" (as they provide instant oatmeal) and were told the health department didn't allow it during Covid. However, we found it curious that the health department would allow them to have loaves of bread that anyone could reach in and grab a slice. Breakfast included bakery pastries, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, juice, coffee. Hosts were civil but not especially personable. Both breakfast and staff quite a contrast to what we experienced in Eugene at Home2 suites. We'd stay elsewhere next time.
Family hotel--only 9 rooms--fully boutique. Robert and Susan Roos are wonderful hosts. Softest towels and linens I've every had. First rate service. Outstanding place and most importantly, very very clean. I looked. I could not find dirt or dust anywhere.
Accommodations were very comfortable, breakfast was varied and plentiful, and the outdoor seating area made social distancing easy. Thanks for another wonderful stay, you both are always gracious hosts.
The Magnolla inn is Beautiful and the people who run it are so friendly! In fact everyone in that town is friendly. I will be staying there again it was perfect from the little touches everywhere that made it so charming to the fluffy towles in the bathroom. It was my moms first time out since the COVID19 and this place made her day! Mine as well I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
Our 5th stopover on our Harley tour. The magnificent Magnolia Inn. Great accommodation in a beautiful location. Highly recommend. A very elegant and immaculate hotel with amazing attention to detail. Beautiful balcony for breakfast and great food. All set in picturesque grounds.
Stayed 2 nights at the Magnolia with 2 other couples and had a fantastic time. Robert and Susan took the time to make sure we were always pointed in the right direction. You are basically a half block from the Main Street easy walking for great food and strong cocktails. I would stay there again just for Susans banana bread. Tobin James
We were blown away with the beauty of the inn.the linens were over the top. The towels Were so soft and fluffy. They furnished bath bead for tub bathing. The continental breakfast was over the top. Hospitality by the inns owners was wonderful. They take exceptional care of the inn. Location is few steps from everything downtown. Great vacation Will return soon
We stayed 2 nights in the Olivia Room. It is the only downstairs (pet friendly) room and is also the handicapped room. It's so nice (and fun) to find a true "Bread & Breakfast Inn" that welcomes our Yellow Lab. The Inn is homey, comfortable and warm. The Innkeepers are most welcoming and friendly. We really enjoyed the use of the upstairs kitchen/dining room for making snacks and reheating leftovers. (Going out every meal can get so tiring) The innkeepers prepare an expanded continental breakfast that is a bonus. (We had leftover tri-tip with our morning fare) This is our second visit and looking forward to another. Ear plugs are provided as the street out front is quite busy and can be noisy. Especially when the roads are wet with rain. P.s. Since we are not from Oregon, we were quite surprised to see all the green hemp fields growing all around Jacksonville. …
