We began staying at the Columbia Gorge Hotel in 1988, and have visited at least once a year, every year, for the past 29, usually in December when the Christmas lights are up. The grounds and setting atop the Columbia River, plus the waterfall are awesome! The rooms are clean and nicely decorated with a mixture of old and new...

We have stayed in this hotel every year for our anniversary, we got married here and it is a great place to recapture the memories. For a few years we were concerned the historic hotel was going to close but there is some new management and they brought back some of the old staff. These people go out of the...

Well, not actually "grand" but being built in 1921 it was the grand-old hotel of the Columbia river gorge. Having that period-look and feel, it is perched on the cliffs that face north (to the river) - with commanding views of the river and the Washington State side of the river. It's not a big place (certainly not by modern...

For an older hotel, the rooms were nicely furnished, especially the bathrooms which are spacious and recently remodeled. The windows are thin so don't keep out street noise or keep in warmth very well. It is located away from the downtown area of Hood River if you are looking for restaurant options outside of the hotel.

Hello Yengis, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We try hard to keep the hotel's historic feel as much as possible while making much needed updates. As far as the windows go, we are installing new windows in every room as we speak. So when we see you next time, there we be less noise...

We loved staying at this hotel! The grounds are beautiful, and the sound and sight of the waterfall behind the hotel are amazing as well as the river view! We were given a private tour by our concierge Rick Vaughan who was very detailed in his historical knowledge of the Hotel! My husband and I enjoyed a very nice breakfast...

Getting dark on a rainy night in the Columbia Gorge. Pulled off the interstate to search the Internet for a place to stay. Saw the fairytale lights of the gardens twinkling beyond the stone gates with the welcoming blaze of lighted windows of a grand hotel from an era almost forgotten. I half expected to see Duesenbergs and Packards drawn...

We loved it! Every single employee was the best! Service was fantastic! The room was comfy and it was like we were in a garden estate. It was our 40th Wedding Anniversary and very romantic We were impressed with how much there was to do in Hood River. Lots of great places to eat and shop.

Just had one night to get away, but really enjoyed our room, after requesting a move to a bigger room..ended up with a corner one that was beautiful!! Your staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Only complaint would be that the coffee was not hot either at Happy Hour or in the morning!! That's it!! Definitely would return!
