After decades of passing through Hood River, it was time to stay. I'm glad we did. Price was the initial appeal, what with the March river view special and base prices already reasonable. The open, airy lobby and adjoining bar/breakfast room are welcoming, and for a longer stay would be great places to hang out. The continental breakfast was perfect...

The building is charmingly old-fashioned, clean and comfortably appointed, and the staff is as cooperative as can be. I've had wonderful stays in 500-year-old buildings fitted as bed and breakfasts, and I can be very happy without the conveniences of shiny, new, modern lodgings. So I could have loved this hotel. I don't. To begin with, a musty smell permeates...

This place was by far the most affordable hotel in Hood River: it's over 100 years old, and the view of the Columbia River is distant (and over a parking lot and a railroad track and a highway), but we loved it. Yes, the floors creak and the rooms aren't entirely soundproof, but earplugs are provided for light sleepers (the...

We stayed at the Hood River Hotel on a recent Saturday night on the recommendation of friends. We found the lodging comfortable, the staff friendly and the continental breakfast above expectation. The food was fresh and served in the bar and entrance hall. The price was quite reasonable compared to the expensive hotel we stayed at in Portland. The stay...

Husband booked this nice surprise for me and the dog for valentines day weekend. Pros: I really enjoyed the breakfast-Served at the bar with fresh pastries and they will make you and espresso drink. The staff was very friendly. The location is right on! It is close to all the breweries. The dog really liked his SWAG bag. Cons: The...

This is not fancy but it is pleasant and comfortable. The staff is very nice. It is very conveniently located downtown within walking distance to restaurants, wine tasting rooms, shopping, Hood River Railroad station and breweries. Wind-surfing, hiking, snow sports nearby. Nice scones, yogurt, juice, etc. provided for breakfast. The rooms vary greatly, so check on-line and/or call the hotel...

We stayed here on New Year day for 1 night. This is a remodeled hotel in downtown Hood River. We enjoyed the old rooms, we had a room over looking the river. The bathroom was small but the space well used. The lobby had a wood fire going & a few couches for people to enjoy the fire. They had...

Great location to just park your car on arrival, then spend your time walking, shopping, and eating. Lovely historic building with comfy modern updates. Friendly staff. We stayed during a mild fall weekend; no air conditioning, but we were comfortable with the ceiling fan going and the window cracked open. They used to have a great little restaurant for breakfast,...
