I like quirky. I can do rustic. However, this place could use a little work, a little elbow grease. And a good dose of owner pride. We wanted a cabin as a respite from a week of camping, and something near Crater Lake. Wilson's Cottages are listed on Crater Lake's page as nearby accommodations. The manager tells a great tale...

The bedding was clean. The rest of the cottage was not, especially the floors. It was impossible for us to light the stove, which was the only way to have heat. The cottage was cold and damp. The nights can be chilly, even in the summer. The place had a musty odor. We did not remain our third night. We...

We really enjoyed our family stay at Wilson's Cottages. It's very economical and our cottage was very clean, spacious and cozy and the decor was just like a "Grandma's" cottage. We had four beds and plenty of hot water in our cottage. Evidently, our cottage was the closest to the hot water heater. We had all we needed to prepare...

Another nice stay at Cottage #1 for our time at Crater Lake - peaceful, convenient to the park, and Pat at the front desk is consistently friendly and helpful. It still takes a while for the warm water to reach the cabin but this year the water pressure was steady and reliable and enough for each member of our family...

The Wilson Cottages were a wonderful find! Definitely bring your own food as if you are camping unless you are willing to drive quite a ways to eat. The cottages are very quaint and hand built by the Wilson Brothers. They use old oil stoves for heating the cabins and you can take a short little walk to the stream...

Like others have said, this place isn't for everyone but it suited our family nicely for a 4-night stay while visiting Crater Lake (it's about 10 miles to the south entrance, the closest accommodations outside the park), and at less than $100 a night it's a good value too. Pluses: great location, peaceful setting, a "throwback" in the positive sense...

My family and I stayed in the cabins for two nights while visiting Crater Lake National Park. The old cabins had a nice atmosphere and were very clean and quiet. We stayed in cabin #4 which did not have a kitchen, but did have three beds (it was the only option left available for us). The rooms were clean and...

I really wanted to like this place. But I was glad when it was time to leave. First, the good parts -- and I want to stress, there are plenty of good things about staying here. It's very close to Crater Lake. It's the very first accommodation outside the park boundary. Staying in town would add about 8 minutes of...

Old wooden cabins, very nice atmosphere right in the woods and very close to Crater Lake. If you don't like this sort of old wooden cabins this is not the place for you. The mattresses should be renewed very soft and squeaky... Pat was great, very nice and helpful. Would definitely return in my next visit to Crater Lake.

This place is just about 1 mile from south entrance from the park and very convenient to up and down from the lake and just about 30 minutes drive to the top of lake at Crater Lake Lodge. The lodgesare nice, clean and very comfortable. The beds were comfy for a good night sleep and worth of price. Very economical...

“Try to find out if there's one particular cabin that has more reliable hot water -- maybe closer to the tank, wherever that is?”

“Not much to buy or eat around, so I very much recommend buying stuff for your entire stay in Klamath Falls or somewhere else before you arrive, and making or heating up your food in the cabin.”
