Detailed Reviews
This is a clean, modern hotel with a helpful staff and excellent breakfast, BUT the hotel's designer (at least for the main building in the front) seemed to focus on form over function. In particular, it seems that little attention was paid to sound-proofing, either between floors or from outside. I was awakened in the middle of two nights out of four, once by a noisy room above and once by street noise. It even seemed like the guest room windows were single-pane, which is ridiculous both for energy and noise. Other minor issues: though guests are provided with multiple large towels, the bathroom had only one small towel rod. And my wife disliked the sliding bathroom door that didn't really close off that room. There are apparently other buildings in the rear, but we know nothing of them. In summary, this hotel is a mixed bag: nice in many ways but don't expect quiet, especially if you have a room near Franklin Blvd.

Property is clean, well manicured plants, and the outside building looks modern and nice. I saw staff brushing down the side of the building removing leaves or maybe cobwebs. I didn’t expect to see that detail. The indoor pool is nice. Cute modern and colorful decor with large bank of windows. I chose the property based on amenities and having a non-gloomy looking indoor pool with nice pictures of the rooms sold me. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable. There was a few stains in the carpeting, but what you going to do? Something like that can be see. I’m any hotel room. It’s not a ragged looking carpet. There’s a small refrigerator in the room with a microwave and Keurig. Great price for what you get. It looks like a newly remodeled hotel and they did a nice job. Our room faced the creek. Pretty cool view of the water a few steps from our balcony. There were ducks swimming around. Finally the staff was very nice. I was able to check in early and was given a room I’m a nice location. I am happy I chose the Hayward Inn and would stay here again.

I stayed at the Hayward Inn to see Phish directly across the street at Matthew Knight Arena. The hotel was spotless, felt really safe, and the staff was super friendly and had Phish through the speakers the whole time. My only suggestion is that the wifi could be stronger; I had to work during the day and the Internet was spotty.

I am SOOOO flippin mad right now! I brought the kids to Eugene for my 17 yr olds birthday and we had a reservation for 2 nights at the Hayward Inn that just opened. When I went to check in and gave my ID, they informed me that they couldnt rent a room to me since my ID still has my Creswell address and you have to live more than 45 miles away to be able to rent a room. I explained that I had gone to the DMV to change my address and the DMV informed me they can no longer issue the paper stickers for address changes so I'm not able to get an address change on the ID unless I play for a new license!! The lady at the hotel desk explained this to the Manager and he would not make an exception not even with an insurance card with my new address or any other proof of address! So now I am in Eugene with no place to stay!Way to go #HaywardInn!!! 👿👿

We booked this "hotel" for a July 4th long weekend trip via Chase Travel. As a family of three traveling from Portland to Eugene, we chose to stay at the Hayward Inn due to its convenient location and appealing pictures. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant.
Misleading Information and Security Issues
1.Room Location: Our room was in a separate building, not the main one housing the lobby, pool, and restaurant. When we made our reservation on the Chase site, there was no notification indicating this.
2.Security Concerns: The separate building had significant security issues. Despite having security doors that require a hotel key, almost all of these doors on every floor were propped open, allowing unrestricted access. This setup offered minimal security, similar to that of a motel. We have documented this with photographs.
3.Inaccurate Evacuation Map: The building lacks an elevator, contrary to the evacuation map on our room door, which incorrectly indicates there is one. Hotel staff confirmed the absence of an elevator, raising concerns about the accuracy of the evacuation map. In an emergency, this misinformation could lead to serious problems.
The Worst Experience and Disgusting Blanket
1.Lack of Elevator: The absence of an elevator in the separate building is highly inconvenient. With one young child, two large suitcases, and several bags, we had to manually carry all these items to our room on the third floor. Additionally, the building, resembling a motel, lacks air conditioning in the hallways and stairs. Carrying heavy items up to the third floor on a 100°F day was extremely challenging and resulted in a back injury from carrying two 50-pound suitcases. This situation is particularly hazardous for elderly guests or those with special needs.
2.Room Cleanliness: The room was not very clean, with spider webs in multiple corners. The blanket appeared very dirty and unappealing. We have taken photographs as evidence.
Refund Request and Response
We attempted to request a refund for our stay through our agent, but our request was rejected by the hotel. The reason provided was that we did not raise these issues during our stay.
Reasons for Not Addressing Issues During the Stay:
1. Upon check-in, when we discovered our room was not in the main building, we requested a change to a room in the main building. However, this request was denied by the front desk. We only stayed one night and did not have the energy to immediately find another hotel with kids in tow.
2.We were on a July 4th long weekend vacation and did not want to deal with these issues with small children. We also did not want to ruin our vacation mood or waste time addressing these problems. Therefore, we chose to contact Chase Travel after our trip, which was two days later

The Hayward Inn's proximity to the University of Oregon campus is excellent, and room rates reflect it. The breakfast is good, too, and the amount of dining space is more than enough. In two stays over the past few months, however, the Queen size bed(s) as advertised have actually been Full size instead. Not sure how a hotel gets away with this, but Hayward Inn obviously does since it's totally booked for all high-demand dates during the school year. I likely won't stay there again due to the price and the beds being too small and not as-advertised.

We usually stay at this hotel for football games, but we’re considering switching to a different one next season. While the rooms are decent, the staff is incredibly rude, and you often get conflicting information depending on who you speak to. During our most recent stay, we decided at the last minute to extend for an extra night. When we called, we were told their reservation system was down, and we should book online, with assurance that we wouldn’t have to switch rooms. Despite confirming this with two different staff members, we were still required to check out of our room and wait until the standard check-in time for the new one. Staff basically said they don’t care and if we wanted to stay the original night we would have to do it. I would rather pay more and have better customer service.

We loved everything about our stay at the Hayward Inn. It is conveniently located across the street from the University of Oregon. The front desk staff was pleasant and welcoming and checkin was efficient. Our room had a lovely patio with a view of the river. Everything was clean. There were two sinks - one in the bathroom and one outside the bathroom. There were an abundance of complimentary toiletries. The room was well appointed and esthetically pleasant. The bed was comfortable. The building was quiet. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we had on a long road trip along I-5. There were several hot food choices in addition to the other standard fare. The breakfast room was spacious and bright. We were in town for an event at the University of Oregon. We would stay at the Hayward Inn again in a heartbeat.

Front desk staff was great. Beautiful rooms. Breakfast was supposed to be served until 9:30. They started breaking it down at 9:15 and refused to replenish coffee and eggs that completely ran out at 9:20 on a game weekend, when the hotel was fully booked. Very rude breakfast staff. If you're quoting 9:30 as breakfast end time, please replenish it right up until the end as every other hotel I've ever stayed in does. Especially when no hot coffee is available in the lobby (only pods). Also, please consider extending breakfast to 10:00 am on weekends, as many other hotels now do.

This hotel is very close to the university and 1.5 miles from downtown Eugene. It has a great breakfast, though the pillows are polyester and not down. The bed is softer than we prefer, but adequate. There is free parking on site and the front desk is friendly.
There are walking and running trails close to the hotel that lead to nearby parks.

No question - happy to have stayed there.

Their website says "Outdoor pool Heated seasonally", so I would assume it's open. Probably the best option is to call them for confirmation.
Sorry don't know
Not sure what you are asking me. I would check with the Best Western in Eugene..if that is the area you are talking about. I am not sure about Best Western near the Portland airport. Good luck!
