Very helpful staff, nice facilities and great location for the price. Would recommend specially for those traveling with dogs. Breakfast was basic but included in the stay price, and swimming pool was nice and open 24 hours

This is my 2nd trip to Eugene in a month. We decided to try this hotel this time. Location is fantastic. It is located near many restaurants, a nice mall and great movie theater. The hotel itself was very clean, and very comfortable. It is more contemporary and looks up to date. Breakfast was great and the lady that words breakfast, constantly check on us making sure that we had everything we needed. We are headed back next weekend and I have booked this same place. It will be our go to hotel from now on.

Eugene, Oregon is best known as the home of the University of Oregon. If you need a place to stay that is a short distance to the university, downtown, and other attractions, a good choice is LaQuinta Inn and Suites, located just east of downtown.

My primary reason for visiting Eugene was to attend a concert at Cuthbert Amphitheatre. This outdoor concert venue and surrounding park are right there, a short walk away. By staying here, we didn’t need to worry about paying for parking at the show. We walked for about ten minutes and arrived at the amphitheatre, then walk back to our rooms when it the show ended.

So, was the LaQuinta Inn and Suites a good choice? Overall, yes, starting with the courteous and friendly check- in. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable, and they do contain a few extras, like a microwave and mini fridge. There is a small convenience store on the main level, complete with simple food options, including frozen foods that you can take back to your room and pop in the microwave. We liked the morning, complimentary breakfast, too. And if you want to exercise, there is a small exercise room, as well as an indoor pool.

Parking is easy enough and I never had issues finding a spot, although I admit that the spaces seem narrow, so you may have issues with a larger vehicle. Everything in the room was in working order and we had no issues. Check out was simple, too. Just a few quick questions and we were on our way.

Eugene, Oregon is home to the University of Oregon Ducks and will always be best known for that reason. But aside from that, Eugene is a fun little town, loaded with its own unique charms. The LaQuinta Inn and Suites is a good place to stay while you explore, and its location makes it walking distance from many attractions. I liked my time here and recommend it for those seeking a moderately- priced place of lodging that checks off most all the required boxes for amenities and service.

We stayed 2 nights, for a pre-and post surgery stay, as my family member had to travel 200 miles to the day-surgery, and I was her recovery companion.

I had booked a river view suite with separate bedroom and a living room with sofa bed. It was described as having a kitchenette with dishwasher and dishes. I thought that would work well to sanitize utensils for the meals I had brought. Upon arrival, the room we were given was just one room with a king bed and sofa bed. I requested the one I had actually booked. A begrudging staff member silently processed a new key card. Second room had the separate bedroom and a “kitchenette” (sink, fridge, coffee machine and microwave) with a view of the car dealership and busy road. I didn’t ask to switch yet again.

Understanding that during these Covid times one can expect some lesser amenities, I had brought some supplies to ensure a sterile environment post-surgery. And good for me, as I was able to empty the overflowing trash can under the kitchen sink with my sterile gloves and sanitize the dirty microwave with the cleaning supplies I had brought. Unfortunately, the kitchen cupboards were completely bare. No dishes or cutlery, no dishwasher either. So, an unexpected trip to buy disposable dishes occurred.

Breakfast was almost laughable. Paper bags with a prepackaged small gummy muffin, or a box of cereal. Yogurt and hard boiled eggs. No paper plates. No coffee, no tea. Ok, Covid measures again, but maybe a coupon to McDonalds instead?

Housekeeping did not happen the next day, but I managed to beg some clean towels from the (unmasked) housekeeper on my floor and empty my trash into the bin on her cart—another staff member with a less than welcoming demeanor.

Two positives of our stay:

1. The location is perfect for a stroll through Alton Baker park.

2. We had inadvertently left some items in a drawer, and discovered it upon arrival home. Dylan at the front desk was most pleasant on the phone. He retrieved the items and mailed them immediately.

I will not return to this motel.

Unfortunately, we had a very poor experience here. My mother booked this hotel so that she could come and visit me over the weekend. She arrived early, so we went up to the front desk just to see if there was any possibility of an early check in. The girl at the front desk was rude and short, declaring it wasn't possible and there were no rooms available, without even checking, until 3pm when check in was. We left and came back at 3, and after standing in line for a while my mom was given her room key finally. When she went up to her room there was a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door, the room itself was in a complete disarray with garbage and linen scattered about, and the tv was also on, which was very alarming as everything indicated that someone was still in the room. At that point my mom asked the nearby cleaners if the room had been cleaned, and they informed her that it wasn't even on their list of rooms to clean. She went back to the front desk where again, the girl working it was rather rude. Eventually, she agreed to get the manager to meet my mom outside of the room. They explained it was due to some error in the booking site not transferring into their system. So, my mom then had to go back down to the lobby and wait over an hour until the room was finally ready. I understand Eugene can get rather busy, but this wasn't a game weekend. There were no events going on. There is really no excuse for the way that she was treated, or the fact that her room was not ready by the agreed upon check in time and she was given keys to it when it was a complete mess. My mom recently had knee surgery and was already in pain before all of this happened, having to stand in line and go up and down from the lobby to her room only made that worse.

Honestly, I don't even want to imagine what this place would be like when there is an event or game going on. If you're considering staying here when there is, or even when there isn't, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

32makaylaw, We apologize for the booking error that resulted in the room assigned to your mom not getting serviced. Unfortunately, our check-in time is only a guideline. We are eager to allow guests to check in when they wish, but there are times when it is not possible. We understand the frustration when one of our visitors is required to wait additional time to take possession of the reserved room. Again, we apologize for the condition of the room. We hope you enjoyed your mother's visit and we would love to offer her a better experience in the future.

The value of the room cost was acceptable so I did not have tons of expectations. The room was fairly clean except the smell of urine when entering. I will admit I have a very sensitive nose so will not be too harsh on the cleaning of the bathroom. I'd stay again when traveling through Eugene.

Great proximity to Autzen.

That's it. The only good thing I can say about this hotel.

Room was dirty and gross with hair and fingernails from previous guest(s). The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable with tiny square-ish pillows that would be undersized on a child's bed. The elevator was slow and tiny making it practically unusable. Housekeeping only cleans the room every 4 days which, given the state of the room when we checked in, feels like that applies whether or not a guest has checked out. The front desk on check in was polite, but perhaps, understaffed. The one guy working disappeared right after we got in line and didn't come back for at least 10 minutes. No one was available on checkout - the desk was unoccupied for the better part of 20 minutes so we just left.

Worst of all, the price of this room was RIDICULOUS. Granted, they are right next to Autzen (which we were not in town for), but much nicer hotels in the 5th Street Market area were about the same price. Will absolutely consider those as an alternative in future trips to Eugene

Mckngbrd, Thank you for your feedback. We know travel for home games to Eugene can be expensive for visitors. We keep our rates competitive with other hotels in the area. When our cleaning team dresses the beds in our rooms, the pillows can get compacted in the cases. Guests have told us they shake them out to fluff them up. We are happy to reclean a space or move visitors to another room to make them more comfortable. I am sorry our front desk staff member was called away to help another visitor with an issue. You have noticed, at times, one person to check in and check out and assist guests. We appreciate your comments and want you to know they help us as we work to improve the value we offer our guests.

This was our second stay at this location and it's a family favorite. We appreciate the 24 hour pool access. The kids loved going downstairs to concessions for cookies and milk at night. The hot breakfast was great especially the sausage biscuits and gravy. We enjoyed waking up to a river view and the location is perfect.

Check in went fine and we found room was clean. A little small like some of the newer hotel rooms but we were only sleeping the night and getting up early to continue driving but if I was staying multiple nights room would have felt small. We had a nice view of the water and greenery. Bed was good. Bathroom was small. We chose to stay here because it was pet friendly and there were many pets staying the night here with their owner. Loved that they were pet friendly. Breakfast was ok, due to covid you select the night before from some items. There are lots of choices but they just didn’t meet our needs. The bananas were green and we were not able to eat them until 2 days later waiting for them to turn a little yellow. The hard boiled eggs were nice but when I peeled them they took out much of the white part of the egg as the shell pulled it off. I know they’re trying their best in these covid times and we did appreciate that they still did breakfast. They were out of milk and that would have that would have been better on my oatmeal I had ordered. Parking lot spaces felt tight. Was worried about our doors getting dinged. Check out was fast and easy. Met our needs for the night.

We stayed for one night during our road trip. Check-in was easy and the staff then was helpful. Furniture & carpet in the room & hallway seem a little old and dusty. We had filled the form for their grab-n-go breakfast, however the next morning we only got a bag of fruit that we dint ask for and a nutri bar which we had not asked for as well. The front desk rep said other guests had cleaned everything and so they dint have anything. It would be better to not offer breakfast than to not keep up with the offering.
Would be okay to stay here if there are no other options.

The only thing their website says is that because of Covid, some food and beverage options may not be available. They served fresh-baked cookies at the front desk and had a small self-serve honor system near the soda machine. La Quinta was very clean when we stayed there. I'd bring Lysol spray and spray commonly used surfaces in the room even though it was cleaned. It's easy to do. Assuming their housekeeping staff does their regular cleaning job, a follow-up spray can't hurt.
