This hotel is excellent. There's 24-hour security and our room was quiet, comfortable, and clean. They even serve pancakes at the complimentary breakfast. Staff are super nice, too. I fefintely recommend staying here.

What an amazing value!

Located right across the street from the Willamette River and the river bank bike path, we literally did not use our car for the entire four days we were here! We just got up every morning and worked out in their cute little fitness center, had some great coffee and headed out. We found the TRU hotel central to the great things in this area: 15 minute bike ride to downtown Eugene down the river path, 5 minutes to UO, another 15 minutes to downtown Springfield and Planktown our favorite restaurant/brewery in the area. Just past Planktown is the mill race bike path and Doris Ranch. If you are not already familiar, search Google for these places they are hidden gems!

The TRU is a new concept hotel with a really fresh brand that is designed to get you out of your room and socializing in their huge lobby complete with big screen TVs, pool table, and tons of really modern comfortable seating areas. The beds were so comfy but the river view won us over! They did not have the breakfast going because of COVID but the friendly staff was super helpful and bent over backwards for us. It was quite obvious to us that everyone working here was really excited about their new place of employment. They all had such a cool personal story to share..fun people!

I would recommend this hotel and it's location to anyone coming to Eugene or Springfield. If you were coming in to see a basketball game or concert at Mac Arena, Visiting UO, or just want a great jumping off place to explore the area around Eugene and Springfield. While there are hotels directly across the street from UO we found them older and more expensive... and to be honest, a little stinky! :( . If you can travel by bike, we can't emphasize enough that the best urban bike path in the state is literally across the street.

I think this was one of the first times in a Tru and I loved it. From the warm welcoming hello to the nice and modern rooms, inviting lobby with a pool table and games... they really got a great concept here. I know the rooms are definitely smaller (not the regular size rooms people are accustomed to), but it's workable for a night or two. Everything was set up very efficiently and I also prefer the hard flooring over carpets, there is definitely sound transfer, but it was ok. Breakfast was also nice and they had it buffet style (finally a hotel without prepackaged bags of useless junk) and everything was organized great and there was plenty of room to sit and eat. Definitely on top of my list of new hotel chains to keep in mind for future travel.

This is a new and clean hotel (opened August 2020). We stayed here in the summer of 2021 and again in August 2022.

PROS
+ Lots of free hotel amenities in the common areas, such as a pool table and a gym.
+ Free buffet style breakfast, including eggs, breakfast meat, waffles, as well as cereals and breads.
+ Free 24/7 coffee and tea in the lobby.
+ All amenities are new and seem clean.
+ Located in a quiet part of the town. Franklin Blvd (in front of the hotel) takes you straight to downtown in several minutes by car.
+Free and large parking lot.
+Using the Hilton Honors app, you can check in ahead of time and choose your room before arriving at the hotel. You can use a digital key on your app to open the side door as well as your guest room door. You can check out on your app as well.

CONS
- Noise from Franklin Blvd (see "Booking Tips" below).
- The free coffee in the lobby tastes terrible.

Bottomline
We will stay here again if the price is right.

Booking Tips
$ If you want a quiet room, do NOT book a room with "river view." Rooms with river view face Franklin Blvd (SR 126). You may see the Willamette River, but you would also see I-5 (Interstate 5), a potential eyesore, and it's noisy. If you HAVE TO have a room with a view (not a view of the parking lot), book a room on a higher floor.

Thank you for staying with us again and taking the time to point out our many positive features. You might be interested to know that we've recently changed coffee brands and are receiving many positive comments. Also on your next visit, if you'd like a river room and find it too noisy, we do offer white noise sleep machines as an option. Again, thank you for returning to see us.

We selected this Hilton property primarily because it is a new hotel, only about 2 years old. Our room was clean and comfortable as were the public areas. The bed and pillows were comfortable for a good night's sleep. As the Tru line of proerties are designed as more "minimalist" than other Hilton brands, there was no place in the room for us to lay out our suitcases except on the floor (which we like to avoid). The only other downside for our river-facing room was the street noise below. This was obviously not a Hilton problem, but the noise from loud cars in the evening was a nuisance. The included hot breakfast was standard Hilton fare, but was clean and organized. The front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. Parking was plentiful while we were there, although there is quite a bit of traffic in the parking lot due to the through-traffic from two adjoining hotels.

This was our first time staying here. We travel to Eugene frequently and usually stay somewhere else, but they continue to raise their prices and take away amenities. We were very pleased with our stay at Tru, but wish it were located closer to downtown.

We are on a long trip from San Diego to Buckley, WA and just want to sleep overnight so we're trying to stay at hotels near $100 that are just off the 5. We've discovered if you do that, you're going to get the parties in the parking lots, unsavory people hanging out and even "ladies of the night" drop offs, etc. We were getting close to Eugene, OR and saw there were a lot of hotels to chose from. We went to $130 for the night at this hotel and WOW, it was so nice. From friendly service to free coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the lobby to modern rooms that are huge. The only issue is I used the disabled seat they provide for the shower due to a broken leg (nice touch, thank you for thinking of 'other-abled' people!) and water leaked all the way from the bathroom to the beds in the room. We cleaned it up but it was just a poor design. I let the check in clerk know about it and she seemed genuinely concerned about it. The hotel provided a hot breakfast from 6-9 that was amazing as well. My wife and I LOVED this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is only a few months old and when we stayed the room rate was very low. The whole property was very clean and well organized. A lot of thought went into the design and organization. Our room was nicely furnished and everything was functional and very minimalistic. It reminded me of being at Ikea. The lobby is spacious and comfortable. It is a great place to hang out, to relax, and play a game of pool. Seating was ample and offered both community long tables and private nooks. Our room faced the parking lot and was very quiet, but I think even the river view rooms facing the street could not have been noisy since traffic throughout the day was light. Its a great budget option. You don't pay for a lot for unnecessary things and it offers so much in return. You sort of wish life was like that.

We ended up with thousands of tiny bugs flying around our room on our second night there. No empty rooms to move to so all I got was a can of bug spray and a bummer from front desk. It was midnight so no chance of finding another hotel to stay in plus, we were staying with a group for a sporting event. Otherwise, everything would have been great and up to Hilton standards. Our group always stays in Hilton hotels and travels the Northwest for sports tournaments. We are consistently pleased with out accommodations and value but this time they just fell short of the mark. Although I understand that another room wasn’t an option, I do not feel I should have had to pay what I was charged for staying under those circumstances. I hardly slept and woke up with several bug bites.

Thank you for your comments. concerning this highly unusual situation. This is something we've not experienced since we opened last summer. It's strange that they only appeared on your second night. Perhaps someone accidentally brought them in from outside or left a window open? Y Please be assured that we called out our pest control company to review the area in order to prevent this from happening to other valued guests as well.

This is the best hotel i have stayed in. They had really helpful staff and they were happy to help. They always greet you with a smile on. I loved my room since it was just like home in which the tv had cool features and breakfast was delicious freshly made everyday. The lobby is like a cool game room to hang out in along with some smaller booths in which you can sit alone and relax or work on a computer. If you meet Kathie at the front desk, you are in for a treat, she is very helpful and very kind, she makes you feel like you both have been friends for a long time when you make conversation with her.
