The place is a little dated on the exterior and the hallways. But the rooms are nice. The bed is super comfortable. Really good pillows. There are no coffee pots in the rooms. When I asked about it. They said that they had 24 hour coffee at the desk. But it was closed due to Covid. They haven’t put the coffee pots in the room yet.

We were recently in Eugene for a show and wanted to stay somewhere within walking distance of the Hult Center. This hotel fit the bill and overall we had a good stay.
Pros:
- Room was clean and spacious
- Room was at the end of the hall next to an elevator access corridor so we didn't have to worry about noisy neighbors
- Breakfast was decent
Cons:
- Parking lot is VERY small (not only are there very few spaces but they're also very narrow). There's overflow parking at the restaurant across the street but only overnight. Luckily we got a good spot and then walked everywhere we went so we didn't have to worry about it.
- We asked for early check-in on our reservation and, despite arriving almost half an hour after the early check-in time, our room wasn't quite ready. Not a huge deal, just a minor inconvenience.
All in all this isn't a bad place to stay if you're in town and don't mind walking a bit. It's within easy walking distance of the Hult Center, Saturday Market, 5th Street Market, the U of O campus, etc.

My husband and I spent two nights here. Location is fine with restaurants around, also a 7-11, McDonald’s and Whole Food nearby. It is near the University of Oregon and many students around the area.
This hotel is old and dark. Receptionist is nice. Reception area is very small. They offered free breakfast with coffee and juice all time.
They have a big TV in room which is nice. However, Their room cleaning and maintenance are not good. We were first checked in a room on the third floor, we found that the handle of the toilet flushing bowl was broken and there was no towel at all. We asked to switch to another room and we were given another one on the second floor. We found out that this room’s microwave is not working and there was no light bulb in the floor lamp. We did not bother this time as it’s not really major issues and we were tired. The bedding were fine. The next day, when we returned to room, there was no bathroom amenities refills at all. Luckily There were new towels.
We will try another hotel next time as there are plenty in the area.

Worst costumer care i have ever received from any hotel, not only by not honoring their advertise promises i.e. breakfast included but being rude when ask about it.

Good price, awesome bed and the best pillows for a hotel! Breakfast included but get up early because they run out! Very little parking area so if you have a big vehicle- forget it. Otherwise great stay

I got the room pretty last minute, but it was really run down. The staff was not particularly friendly. There was no where to park our trailer so we had to park it across the street. The location was good for access to U of O, but I think there are other hotels in the area that I would pick next time. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

This was our third or fourth stay and until this visit, we loved this place. (See my previous review of January 2016.) We arrived Christmas Day for three nights visiting the kids/grandkids for the holiday. Agent who checked us into the room authorized our credit card twice. This was not a problem for us, but it could have ruined someone else's vacation since those funds were unavailable for use until after check-out. Mistakes happen, but what was annoying was that no one knew how to remove it until check-out.
While in the past we had been so happy with the cleanliness of the room--not so much this time. Perhaps some room-cleaners are better than others. There were numerous hairs in the bathroom and debris under the sink--like small pieces of tissue, that were there when we arrived and not removed until the day before our departure.
Breakfast was pathetic for the first two mornings--not only was it extremely limited, but eggs were burned, no fruit the first day. Their posted menu wasn't even followed. On day three, it appears that their food delivery finally arrived since there was yogurt, two cereal choices and several items on day three that were not there on the first two days.
Staff seemed disinterested. In the past staff was friendly. Not sure if management has changed?
I love the Red Lion franchise. Their hotels are often dated in their decor, but overall they are clean and staff is friendly and accommodating. I would have given this visit one star, but kudos to the room cleaner who actually cleaned the room on day three of our stay.

I generally have managed to steer clear of Red Lion properties for no known reason. I am not sure if I previously had a bad experience at one or just a preconceived misconception based solely on not known reason. Nevertheless, I did venture to book a stay at this property. I must say that I was very pleased with the accommodations and location. The hotel is in walking distance of the university and a hearty walk to downtown Eugene. Whilst it is close to the university and, as one would expect, accessible to the wanderings and meanderings of college kids, it is safe and quiet and quite comfortable. The staff -- front desk and facilities support staff -- are great and surprisingly happy to see you! The only concern is the weight of the room doors or the tension on the door tensioner of some of the rooms. You can hear the sound of doors closing well in to the night should you have floor mates with a penchant for late night comings and goings. Otherwise, this property is great for families, couples, and business travelers. I will not be so quick to pre-judge a Red Lion property in the future (at least without due diligence and vetting).

I found this Red Lion to be very mediocre - in all ways. The staff were very laid back, room was outdated, parking was minimal. The beds and linens were good. Our room had no glasses or cups and upon request to the front desk it took 20 minutes to bring them to the room. We were 'assigned' this place using Priceline name your own price. Beware of booking a 3-star hotel this way as you might land at the Red Lion. I will not be back.

My family and I stayed at the Red Lion Eugene during the Olympic Trials Track Meet. The room was clean, quiet and the beds were comfy. We were especially impressed with the front desk staff. They were exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and professional. This hotel is directly across the street from the U of O campus. The incredible Willamette River jogging trails are just about 1/4 mile from the hotel door! Many popular restaurants are within walking distance. All in all, a very reliable place to stay in Eugene!
