La Bastide. It’s not just the wineries, though there are hundreds nearby. And it’s not just the restaurants, despite the acclaim that local restaurants have earned. And it’s not just the local farms, produce stands, distilleries, or breweries. And it’s not just parks, trails, or the Air and Space Museum. And it’s not just the close proximity to Portland or the Oregon Coast. It’s all of these, and more. The Dundee Hills are home to some of the best wineries in the world. There are more boutique vineyards here than any place in the Northwest. You can wine, dine, and play here like no place else. And you can stay in some of the most comfortable and authentic inns in the world. La Bastide offers 8 comfortable guestrooms, each with a king- or queen-sized bed and private bathroom, and many with a fireplace. A memorable breakfast is included each morning. Your hosts, Mark and Elizabeth, are glad to help you plan your visit, whether it’s winery reservations, or a day-trip to the Oregon Coast.

Detailed Reviews
La Bastide appears to be one of the nicest places to stay in town. John was wonderful in arranging tastings and dinner reservations for us, entire place is spotless, and the breakfast was very good. Our only note was that the rooms could use a bit more decor to “cozy” them up; it felt quite plain and a little more hotel-ish than most b&bs, but that’s hardly a criticism. We’d definitely stay here again.

This was a nice little find in Oregon Wine Country. Very clean and the rooms were comfortable and quaint. There is a fireplace in every room which is a plus and breakfast the next morning was included. The staff was friendly and accommodating and each room has it's own private bathroom. We will stay here again!

If you’re looking for a B&B that will provide great service with comfortable accommodations and excellent breakfast...look no further! Prior to my wife and I’s first trip to Willamette Valley I contacted Innkeeper Mark for recommendations. Due to COVID-19, reservations are required at most wineries and restaurants. Mark took the time to learn our interests and helped build an itinerary that provided flexibility and time to enjoy each winery, restaurants, and events we visited. He also setup the reservations for us! His knowledge and recommendations were fantastic. A 20th anniversary trip my wife and I will remember forever. Thank you Mark for all you and Elizabeth did for us prior and during our visit!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our visit to Willamette Valley wine region and absolutely loved it. The bed was the most comfortable and biggest we’ve stayed in for a while, with the best pillows and lush sheets. The breakfast was amazing, and would likely be worth at least $50 per couple if buying a similar meal at a restaurant. And the innkeepers were absolutely lovely - very friendly and so eager to help with planning an itinerary or offering tips on what to do and see in the area. 10/10 would recommend and would definitely stay here again if we’re ever back in this region!

I needed an overnight stay in the Dundee/Newberg area after a dinner at The Painted Lady. Check-in at La Bastide was easy and friendly. I booked the Provence Room, which was spacious with three windows. The sink is separate from the toilet/shower room (which is small). There was a small table with two upholstered chairs and another, slightly larger, upholstered chair. Keurig coffee/beverages, a refrigerator of water and soft drinks, and microwave is available in the dining room at all hours.
You order breakfast ahead via an internet link and can have it in your room or the dining room. I chose the dining room. You can choose as many ala carte items as you wish, so it was as amply as you desire. I had the crustless quiche, fruit, and maple bacon muffin and that was a huge, delicious meal. I was very satisfied.
The room does not have a separate thermostat, so you should contact the host to have temperature adjusted.
As it was snowy outside, I didn't get to enjoy the lovely patio, which would be ideal for sipping wine. You can easily walk from La Bastide to wine tasting rooms, etc. in Dundee (although it would be at least 3 blocks to the first one), so it would be a good base exploring on foot.

La Bastide was a very comfortable stay. We stayed in the Provence room. All the amenities are very up-to-date and the operations have shifted appropriately to take all necessary safety precautions due to COVID. The fruit served is all local and delicious and the owners are willing to go the extra mile (like having coffee delivered to your room before breakfast service starts). We would definitely stay here again.

Mark and Elizabeth do a fantastic job at "La Bastide". Rooms are nice with individual private bathrooms. The house is in a fantastic quiet location, just off the main street from the many wineries /tasting rooms and restaurants. Sumptuous breakfast can be room service, served indoors or outdoors - on the lovely patio. { we placed our order very easily from our phone, the night before } The fresh fruit was sweet:berry season! & the breads are all homemade and delicious / you can tell all is made with TLC - from the breakfast sandwiches, to the avocado spread & even the cut grapefruit! Mark was gracious on the phone ( and in person ) and helped guide our dining and tasting experiences; A+

The place is lovely and the hosts were very accommodating. We were only there one night, but I’ll go back and explore wine country again soon.
We escaped Portland wildfire smoke and were heading to the coast. This respite provided comfort and good air quality inside to help us on our trip. The hosts were able to provide suggestions to help us in any way.

La Bastide is beautiful, both the public areas and the room I had, which was the Loire. There are very comfortable inside and outside living areas, as well as the large front breakfast room. From there you can help yourself to an assortment of cold beverages, as well as coffee and tea - these are available 24/7. I loved the Loire Room, with it's cream and white theme. There were lovely Tiffany inspired touches as well. The breakfast (which you choose from a variety of offerings) was really delicious, and substantial. The Croque Madame, sausage, cinnamon biscuit, and fruit bowl were wonderful. The atmosphere is very relaxed and inviting. Merci beaucoup Elizabeth and Mark!

We found and chose La Bastide based on TA reviews and are very glad we did.
First, its location is great. Not being at all familiar with the area, I didn't know how well-positioned it is for visiting top wineries. We had just 2 full days available (plus our arrival afternoon after driving from Hood River.) We just wanted to visit a few wineries and a cheesery in the Dundee Hills, and it was very easy to do from La Bastide. The B&B is fairly close to a highway and some warehouses, but in under 5 minutes visitors can be up in the scenic, rolling vineyard-covered hills. We also wanted to have dinners nearby, and Dundee and Newberg were perfectly fine. There are "destination" restaurants within 15 minutes but that wasn't our priority.
More importantly, the hospitality is first-rate. Mark spent time on the phone with me when I first phoned, because the online room calendar showed we'd need to move rooms to have a 3-night stay. He assured me it would be no problem and it wasn't. We left after breakfast for a day out touring and came back to find our bags on luggage racks in our new room. Mark also gave me excellent advice on how best to use our time to have the kind of wine tasting experiences we wanted.
The place was built to be a B&B, and although the interior furnishings are elegant, there are many modern conveniences. Each of our rooms had lamps on tables on each side of the bed, and easy to use multi-outlet "pods" to plug in cords and USB's. These conveniences are the norm at chain hotels but can be hard to find at more charming accommodations. One of the rooms had a king bed and the other a queen - both were fine. One bathroom was small, with just a toilet and a nice shower; the vanity sink was near the door into the bedroom. The other bathroom was large, with two sinks and convenient shelves for toiletries, etc. Both of our rooms were on the front of the house and we were not aware of any road noise. The website gives details and photos of the rooms.
We didn't spend much time in the rooms other than sleeping, and we'd have been content with a simple continental breakfast, but Elizabeth makes outstanding, cooked to order feasts. Mark is friendly and attentive with coffee refills and conversation and advice. The rooms don't have refrigerators, but a communal one in the dining area serves its purpose.
Thank you, Mark and Elizabeth - we'd stay here again if we return to visit wineries in the Willamette Valley.

I am sorry to be so slow. We have been in Costa Rica (a real must for travelers). I am sorry I don't know the answer but the people are super friendly. I am certain a call or even an email will give you a quick answer.
No - but a large fridge in the dining area available to store things - also a ready free supply of soft drinks and bottled water - in addition to 24hr coffee capsule machine and teas
