Detailed Reviews
We were on a 5 day visit in NW Oregon. Quimby's was our first stop in the wine country. What a beautiful place. We left very envious of what Steve and Lorrie have created. The place was decorated with some very nice art work that was mostly done by Lorrie. They had great suggestions for wine tastings the day we left. Had fun with their 3 girls (chocolate labs). We really should have spent more time here. We have stayed at 15+ BnB's across the country. By far this was the best yet. Thank you for allowing us into your home.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful, cozy, spotless home, in the heart of the wine valley. Steve and Lori were amazing hosts and Lori’s breakfast was so delicious! We had a wonderful room with a comfy bed and soft linens. The private bath was adjacent. The hosts have thought of every single detail to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We loved the wineries and the restaurants they recommended. On one evening, we brought wood fired pizza and wine and enjoyed dinner on their back patio amazed by their beautiful view. This was better than a 5 star hotel. The hospitality was beyond exceptional and their home is a perfect place to be after a day visiting wineries. We will definitely be back to visit Lori and Steve. We felt very welcome.

Beautiful home at a great wine country location. Lorri and Steve are great hosts that set the bar pretty high for any future B&B stays. We don't typically eat breakfast but are glad that we made an exception because it was the perfect start to our day in wine country. We will be back!

My wife and I had heard some nice things about the Willamette Valley in Oregon and we were excited about the idea of exploring the Pinots from this region.
We live in Marin county in Northern California, and Sonoma & Napa are familiar wine neighbors so we both were ready to see something new.
We had both been to Seattle many times and somehow Portland and the surrounding area got a bit lost in the shuffle of places to see in the great Northwest but we soon learned that this is a trip we should have made years ago.
After a bit of research, we thought a bed and breakfast in the heart of the Willamette Valley would be a nice introduction to get the flavor of the community and provide and insider's perspective on what makes the place so special.
Quimby's Pond in Dayton could not have been a better place for us to see the area.
It's a beautifully appointed Inn and our new friends Lorrie and Steve made our stay a very special one. The Inn is located by a hazelnut farm along the Willamette River and the home's setting relaxed us immediately.
Lorrie has collected antique tables, chairs, desks, old, well crafted kitchen appliances and the like and they are tastefully placed throughout her gorgeous home.
She prepared us an amazing three course breakfast that showed that she is not only a talented interior decorator but an impressive and seriously great chef.
From homemade apple sauce with a roasted apple slice in a sugar glaze, to down home oatmeal with dried fruits and nuts cooked perfectly, and scrambled eggs with prosciutto goat cheese & herbs, she made us feel like we just found the best breakfast place in Oregon just steps from our room!
We felt like we were family in the kitchen and got some great suggestions on how we might best spend our free time. It's refreshing to have a stay away from a hotel and experience the valley like the locals might.
The Evergreen Aviation museum was one of those suggestions and is only a few miles away, plus wineries like Seufert, Sokol Blosser, Domaine Serene, White Rose and Domaine Drouhin are all great spots to sample world class wines of the area.
So this is a well deserved 5 star review - we don't easily gush but need to make an exception when it comes to the Quimby. It is an exceptional place to stay in a beautiful part of the country.
P.S. Their friendly chocolate labs will outlast your arm if you decide to toss them a ball while you tour the pond and surrounding property.

+1
We just spent a night with Lorie and Steve this weekend. We absolutely LOVED this wonderful B&B. The house was very nicely decorated and built. It was luxurious and relaxing. We loved both Lorie and Steve the owners. They are friendly, wonderful and took great care of us. They treated us like family! You can't find anything like this anywhere else. Even the location was slightly off the main road, we find it easy to get in and out regardless. The best thing is the peace and quiet at all hours and the incredible star gazing at night. You would not want to miss this place if you are in the area.

Our first trip to Oregon was a combo wine tasting expedition and coastal get-a-way and our stay at Quimby's Pond was truly a highlight of the trip. The location was perfect, in the heart of the valley, with easy access to lots of great vineyards. But it was the graciousness and warmth of owners Lorrie and Steve that made our stay perfection. Together, they have created a very comfortable and welcoming Inn which exudes their creativity and style. It's nestled in a peaceful and beautiful spot with gorgeous gardens you'll want to explore. We have special needs due to wheelchair use and just as Lorrie ensured me on the phone, the house is ideally accessible, including a large roll-in shower. Our room was charming with a comfortable bed, unique furnishings and a little secret you'll discover when the lights go out! Breakfast was fabulous, filling us up for a day of wine tasting as Lorrie and Steve readily suggested wineries and restaurants. They even offered their air compressor and some WD-40 for the wheelchair! They obviously enjoy hosting and sharing their home and we enjoyed great conversations with these new friends. Looking forward to a return visit!

Once you step foot on the rolling, grassy hills scattered with cascading lavender plants leading to still, quiet pond adorned with willow trees you know you've found a slice of paradise, nestled in Oregon's wine country. But it's Lorrie, Steve and their 3 playful chocolate labs that really make Quimby's Pond unforgettable. They are all incredible hosts (yes, even the pups who fetched sticks from the pond and never failed to bring a grin to my face). Lorrie and Steve exuded hospitality from the moment we arrived, welcoming us with refreshing water and popcorn and a toasty fire. We enjoyed great conversation and the most delicious breakfast we'd had on our 11 day trip, which says a lot considering we brunched hard in foodie towns like Portland and Seattle. But Lorrie's freshly picked blueberries and omelette from Steve's chickens put them to shame. Even the workers at the Van Duzer Vineyards mentioned how incredible her cooking is! Before heading off for the coast, Steve drew an extremely helpful map to show us a little-known hike for great views of the Pacific and Lorrie gave us tasting cards for the spectacular Van Duzer Vineyards. I couldn't help but call after our hike and thank them, yet again for their welcoming hospitality. Next time I find myself in Willamette Valley, I know I'll call Quimby's Pond "home" for the evening---providing that they're not all booked up! Cheers and thanks so much Steve and Lorrie!

My wife and I visited Quimby's Pond B & B for an area wedding. The website was very informative and inviting but the stay was even better. The property is centrally located if you are there for wine country. It is secluded and gives you a very "in the country" experience. It is a short (10 Minute or less) drive to many great dining options The home is beautifully decorated and kept in immaculate condition.
Our hosts Steve and Lorrie were very friendly, know the area very well and gave us numerous tips on what was interesting in the area. They are well travelled and their experiences show in all the nice touches of their home for those who stay there.
The breakfasts were outstanding and the friendly conversations were a great part of the experience. The property is beautiful and relaxing to sit outside with a cup of coffee or glass of wine or go for a walk around the pond.
We were very satisfied with the experience and would definitely return

I am in awe of how beautiful the Quimby's Pond B & B is. Every room in the house is inviting and cozy. The views are absolutely beautiful. Steve and Lorrie have been the most gracious hosts. They make sure your stay here is memorable. From her mad skills in the kitchen to the sweet fur babies who can keep you entertained for hours playing with a stick. You come in as strangers and leave as friends. Thank you so much for everything. We will be back!

Each evening after touring the local vineyards we would open a bottle of one of our great wine finds and unwind in luxury. Lorrie is a gifted artist evidenced with her paintings, restored antiques and detail in their creative home design. Steve's talent with construction and indoor woodwork is amazing. We already feel lie like friends. We will definitely be back!
