My husband and I booked a room at RR Thompson House to celebrate our 11-year anniversary. The owners were very hospitable. They brought flowers to our room to say "happy anniversary" and made us such a special breakfast with a little extra love. The house was beautiful and we enjoyed the local wineries and the restaurants in the area. It...

This is a very nice little B & B in the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley wine country. It's a great location from which to explore the area. The Inn itself is pleasantly hosted by Mike & Roselyn. The rooms are large and "well appointed." Point, point, point. :) Breakfast is also excellent. So far, we've always had fruit plus...

Our stay at the R.R. Thompson House was a wonderful retreat for a wine tasting getaway. The Lilac room was very peaceful, with old world decor, a jacuzzi tub and comfortable bed. Our hosts were very gracious and the breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Complete with French pressed coffee. We were asked about any diet restrictions upon checkin and...

We decided to visit several Oregon wineries on our last trip to the Portland area. There are lots of great wineries only an hour south of Portland. We stayed at the R.R. Thompson House, and it was wonderful. We had the big Rose Room. Loved the great space, jacuzzi tub, great breakfasts, and nice conversation with the owners. Ask the...

Delicious breakfast served. Wonderful and friendly hosts. Town of Carlton has more than 30 wine tasting rooms. Overall had a good time. Stayed in Magnolia room, it was fine but there was no tv inside and wifi connection in the room.

We have stayed at the R.R. Thompson House twice, which we enjoyed thoroughly. The furnishings are lush, our guest bedroom beautiful, and we both had a perfect night's sleep on lovely linens. Even with the window open and a house full of guests, it was very quiet. Breakfast was delicious, fresh, pure ingredients. The friendly hosts were very accommodating to...

We are delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. The suites are indeed spacious and our location is quiet. We're happy to hear you were well pleased with our breakfasts. Our chef believes food should appeal to the eye as well as satisfy the appetite. Thank you for your wonderful review. We look forward to a return visit!

We stayed for one night in late August when wine touring. The town of Carlton is a very nice little town with several tasting rooms located downtown. As well, there are quite a few wineries short drives from here. We selected this B&B because of its location. From that perspective, it certainly fit the bill. Only a short walk to...

Our location in Carlton is indeed ideal for wine tasting, and we're glad you found it so. Our nightly rates start at $150, which is a very competitive rate for the area. Our spacious suites, which stretch from the front to the back of the house (with windows on three sides) are higher, starting at $225. Our rates can accommodate...

First, the good. This bed and breakfast has a great location, in walking distance to the short main street. Our room was one of the 2 really spacious ones, on the 2nd floor. The bathroom was clean and modern, though it had no place to hang anything, or shelves on which to place things. The hosts were friendly. Upon arrival...

Not sure what the source of the smell was but it was obvious immediately upon entering, keeping the window open and the fan running in my room allowed me to sleep. I enjoyed exploring Carlton and the surrounding area. Not sure if I would return or try another location. Breakfast was enjoyable both mornings I was there. The bed was...

We stayed here during the Oregon Wine Country Half Marathon Weekend Aug 29-1 SEP 2014. I will tell you the positives and negatives, but I will tell you the main reason this B&B did not get the 5 stars, and that was due to the smell. Now please note- we did not mention this to the owners, I wanted the...
