The 19-story Tulsa hotel was the tallest building in Oklahoma when first built, and the only place with ice-cold tap water and rooms with ceiling fans. The distinctive Sullivanesque style, Art Deco-era hotel instantly became a high society hub in Tulsa, the Oil Capital of the World. Oil tycoons such as J Paul Getty conducted business deals in the lobby and celebrity guests such as Babe Ruth, Charles Lindbergh, Lucille Ball and President John F. Kennedy danced in the Crystal Ballroom.

The Mayo Hotel is amazing. Staff is great both the manager Ray and desk associate Drew were hugely helpful during our stay for our son’s wedding to our dear daughter in law. All our rooms were lovely beds comfy great linens and the staff super helpful as we had lots to arrange for the weekend. They are fabulous and the rooms are beautiful. Feels like NYC hotel but just nicer. Also, right around the corner is a cafe with amazing food. We will be back!!

Stayed for 5 nights on a business/pleasure trip. The hotel is nice. Beautiful lobby and common spaces. I was here for a small conference and thought all hotel food as well as the AV support was solid. It seems they host a ton of events here. Cool penthouse bar but it was too cold to be outside up there. A few things I ordered in the shop downstairs were all good. Room service was good too; not crazy exp. In fact, prices here all felt reasonable, including the room rate. I got the same vibe from some staff that others here mentioned: verbally nice, but it seemed like they were annoyed about speaking to you or helping you. The room was huge!! Bigger than my apartment where I live 🤣 loved the furnishings and there is a full kitchen and large bathroom with the closet inside, 2 TVs. This would be great for staying with a friend and having room to spread out. Housekeeping came once or twice but was spotty and I was not advised on what to expect with that when I checked in. However I was in and out of the room some with the do not disturb sign up. I wished the kitchen had a few dishes/utensils for you to use. Water bottles were provided in room at no charge which is always nice (however, they would not give me a complimentary bottle at the desk, whenever housekeeping hadn’t made it to the room to replenish them). While it initially seemed flattering, I found the bathroom lighting terrible for doing make up. The shower has 2 mini showerheads in addition to the main one which was cool. I wished for more hangers and hooks in the closet area. There were nice Nest toiletries and the lobby always smelled great. Wasn’t walkable to much but Tulsa overall didn’t seem that walkable. I will say that I had trouble feeling settled here. For some reason I didn’t sleep that great a single night. It wasn’t particularly loud as far as hotels go, so I’m not sure what was going on, but there just seemed to be a weird vibe such that I couldn’t relax — maybe just knowing it’s an old building … Overall though, it’s a lovely hotel and a fine place to stay in Tulsa.

This renovated historic hotel in downtown Tulsa is attractive and ambitious but should instead focus on getting the basics right. The restaurant and penthouse bar have nice food but not comfortable seating for eating. Despite having a restaurant one can get only a "grab and go" breakfast, with no option for including breakfast in the room price. The heat in our otherwise comfortable room was not adjustable, even after someone came up to adjust it. The shower didn't drain at all. The place needs to get its act together.

The hotel is so beautiful. I love how they’ve carefully honored its history while adding modern flare. The staff are over the top accommodating. Especially Maria, who helped me and my family out after I had made a mistake when booking. Great hotel!!

I travel often to Tulsa to pick up my daughter and then drop her off, stayed one night at the Mayo first time, arrived late at night and had to fly early in the morning, I forgot my diamond earrings on the bed and realized 10 minutes after I left, I called front desk immediately and the guy didn’t care, basically told me to send an email and they’d contact me if they found them. I trusted him because every hotel saves or mails forgotten stuff, even tho he was not helpful I emailed before boarding my plane. I told him where exactly I left them, nobody responded to my email, I emailed again and again even offered them a reward, finally someone emailed back and said they had been calling me and no earrings were found. Another review on here say they forgot their shoes and weren’t allowed to re enter the room to get them, so fully confirms that they just steal their guests forgotten items! Who manages this place? Wonder if they know or if the owner knows too! I liked the hotel and even made a cute TikTok advertising it…. I’m so disappointed and will never stay at it again. Last week when I dropped off my daughter I stayed somewhere else. Bunch of thieves! Rude front desk!

This place was a sad disappointment. The room was grungy, smelled off and had a strange vibe. It was spacious but there was an off putting noise coming from a locked room, the sleeper sofa had no bedding and looked like it would be a torture device. We left the hotel after eating at a mediocre gift shop/take and go coffee shop which was the only food option. We gave our keys back to the front desk without compensation but just couldn’t stay. We asked for a credit but they said they couldn’t accommodate us which didn’t seem right. We ended up staying at a different nearby hotel which was wonderful.
