Not the first time I've been disappointed in a visit to The Lafayette. This time we booked a queen room through Expedia. The hotel would not honor the reservation, saying that Expedia overbooked them. This was blatantly untrue as they had queen rooms available at a higher price and offered us a full sized bed for the Expedia price. I...

We were very happy with our stay at this historic hotel. We spent two nights in Room 215, which is a large, corner suite with a huge private balcony overlooking the Ohio River. The furnishings were gorgeous period pieces and the king-sized bed was more comfortable than the beds at Holiday Inns and Marriotts, where we often stay when traveling....

We enjoyed staying very much as we love history and this was living history. Would I come back? Yes we hope to return late summer to see the things we missed. Food was very good and the breakfast was hot and delicious. As I said will stay again..

The Lafayette was a very cool hotel with a lot of charm and history. We had some problems with the temperature in our room. We were in the old part of the building and although there was a wall unit for air conditioning, it was heated through a boiler system. The first night we were there it was very cold....

Stayed in a penthouse suite that had access to private rooftop patio that was shared with other rooms. Found out later anyone has access to patio. Not just the 2-3 room. So the patio was not so "private" as expected. Room and nostalgia of building is awesome. Rooms are dated which we liked, as it is historic. Attended a in...

I am glad that you enjoyed your stay at the Lafayette Hotel. I have shared your information with our Executive Housekeeper so that she can work with her staff to pay closer attentions to the items you noted. I would definitely recommend a Balcony room for your next stay. My favorite Balcony room is Room 215. It does not have...

Nice, quiet and great view of the river. Everything fine but shower nozzle way too low, especially for most everyone. Also there should be two people at the reception desk. Would stay again. Thank you for preserving an important part of American history.

Our room was a small penthouse room right outside the roof deck. We had a beautiful view of the Riverfront. Room as small but with the outside and view it made it okay. Our trip was to celebrate our 25th anniversary and the hotel and city filled our wants and needs. You cannot get a better location in Marietta than...

The Ghost tour at the Layfette was very interesting and entertaining. Well worth the money. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Had a pizza party in the evening and breakfast was served in the morning. We stayed on the third floor---the most haunted--and we could search all night if we wanted to for supernatural happenings.

Thank you for your review. Great to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us at the Lafayette Hotel. The Sternwheel Festival is a great time to come to Marietta. Although the City is extremely busy, there is a lot of different activities going on through out the weekend. We do have a long waitlist for that weekend but we...

Stayed one night while friend's daughter was visiting Marietta College. Stayed in Twin bed room with thin walls, but the hotel is historic so expect the creaks. SHOUT OUT TO JENNIFER at the lounge bar for excellent service!! Can view the river from room, walking distance to shops and restaurants! Only down sides were it gets confusing to exit the rooms and...
