I honestly don’t know where to start… me & my fiancé have been coming to Cassady’s Hilltop Cabins for the past 8+ years About 6-8 times a year easily & we have stayed in all 4 of his cabins that’s available & LOVED LOVED it every single time!!! Bob is THE BEST, we showed up here in his driveway, like I said over 8 years ago by just driving around & looking for a place to stay & he rented the View to us those first 2 days & we keep coming back every chance we can get!! Actually right now at this very moment I’m sitting on the front porch of the twin oaks leaving this review!! Couldn’t ask for a Better place to stay‼️ Oh & the Fishing is absolutely Amazing 🎣💙🎣

We were here for a 3 night getaway at The Trail. On the ride in we saw a fawn and mom. They had everything we needed. A nice ceramic cook top, microwave, oster oven, barbecue grill. The deck with hottub, TV , swings afforded a lovely view of forests and wildlife. Contrary to other reviews, the place was not dirty. Close to Hocking Hills hiking spots, we did about 5 miles a day. The owners were fantastic! We would definitely recommend!

My boyfriend and I stayed the weekend at The View cabin the first weekend in October this year. We had a great time! This is a simple, cabin in the woods - and for the price, was perfect for us. The cabin was clean, simple, cozy, and quiet. It looks like someone put a lot of love into the cabin as a lot of the things inside look like they were handmade. We forgot a few things from home and were pleased to see the cabin had some simple amenities - hot plate, plates, bowls, cutlery, a few cups, microwave, toaster, toaster oven, coffee pot. The cabin has 2 rooms and the bathroom is part of the bedroom. There aren't any walls to separate the toilet and shower areas from the bedroom but we made it work fine. The living area had a small fridge/freezer, a breakfast bar, couch with 2 built in recliners, stand alone recliner, and a separate chair. There is a flat screen TV with DirecTv satellite. The pictures on the website are outdated - there is no longer a wood burner for heat. A propane heater and small electric heater kept us warm during the cool night! The deck had a very nice grill which we used for every meal, a swing and a hot tub. The hot tub smelled and looked very clean which we utilized after a long hike one evening. If you are looking to disconnect and just enjoy nature and time with the person/people you are traveling with, this is a great spot to do it! If you are expecting to stay somewhere fancy with a ton of amenities, then book yourself a hotel with room service. You are staying in the middle of the woods... don't be surprised when you see bugs/nature! Thank you Mr. Cassady! We had a lovely time and enjoyed your private oasis in the woods!! This was our first time at Hocking Hills and it turned out to be a great trip!

After reading some less great reviews about the View cabin from previous travelers, my girlfriend and I didn't know exactly what to expect when we stayed for one night in the View in mid-August. We were very pleased. The cabin was clean, cozy, and secluded. The cabin itself has two rooms. One room has two beds, a toilet, a shower, and a sink. A twin bed is lofted perpendicular to a queen (I think it was queen, at least) bed below it. It's kind of an unorthodox setup that we weren't sure about going in, but it worked just fine. You can't see the toilet when you're lying in the bed. The other room is a large, tall room with a kitchen area (microwave, sink, but no oven or stove) and living area (couch, TV, etc.). This room has sliding glass doors that lead out to the porch. The porch is wooden, raised from the ground, and features a couple of swinging bench chairs and a hot tub. The cabin overall was wood on the outside and inside, giving it a nice cozy feel. It was very clean; I didn't see a single bug, dead or otherwise, inside the house during our stay (We did cover the bottom of the front door with a towel as a preventative measure, though, because there's about a 2 millimeter gap underneath). The hot tub was clean. The cabin is situated in some woods, with a fire pit behind the house. When we stayed, there was a lighter and fire starting brick in the house. I don't know if it was left by the proprietor or by a previous tenant. The location is great; most of Hocking Hill's recreational activities are right nearby. I didn't have more than one bar of Verizon cell service anywhere in the region, so consider physically printing out directions to and from the cabin. We booked it over the phone by speaking to Bob, then he emailed us instructions for getting to the house and where we could find the key. We never actually met Bob in person. We would stay here again!

My husband and I booked a 3 night stay. We thought it would be a great romantic getaway. PLEASE don't stay at The View cabin! We managed to stay 8 hours before we had a "family emergency" and left in the middle of the night. The place was filthy, dirty refrigerator,(hair) spider webs everywhere, the sink was broken in the bedroom, dead bugs on the floor, bugs coming in through cracks, hot tub had fresh water in it but dead bugs at the bottom and it was pretty beat up, dead bugs in drawers, linens didn't smell fresh. We took a huge financial loss when we left but it was disgusting. I only wish we took photos but we left in a hurry. The cabin looked nothing like the pics on the website.

We just wrapped up a 4-night stay at Cassady’s Hilltop Cabins. The Twin Oaks Cabin had plenty of space for our family and tons of amenities. The setting was ideal for truly unplugging - the cabin sits in the trees, so you feel completely secluded. I rarely review a business online. What motivated me to do so in this case was Bob’s excellent service. We had to make some requests the day of our arrival, and he accommodated us without hesitation or complaint. He escorted us right to the doorstep of the cabin, explained what we needed to know, and then left us to ourselves the rest of the week. Thanks, Bob, for a restful family vacation!

The Trail cabin provided a wonderful getaway for our family. The cabin exceeded our expectations! The hot tub as well as the rest of the cabin was extremely clean. It was very private and relaxing. The stocked pond offered hours of fishing entertainment for our kids. The owners were very kind and attentive to details.

We had a group of 14 people stay at the Twin Oaks cabin and we had a great time. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep and we didn't mind sharing the two bathrooms amongst us. The kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed the sunroom, hot tub, swing, gliders and sitting around the fire pit. We spent most of our time outdoors because of the time of year. But, if you went during the fall or winter, it would be a cozy place to stay with a mini movie theater in the basement. If you do stay in the winter, make sure you have 4-wheel drive, as it is not easy to get to. With the trees in bloom, we couldn't see any other cabins and found it very peaceful. We thought the cabin was clean and comfortable.

We recently stayed at the Twin Oaks cabin with a group of 8 women. I would probably give this cabin 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 since 3.5 isn't an option. The good: (1) The owner is very responsive to texts/emails and is attentive during your stay (he lives on the property, will tour the place with you at check-in, may come down to check and make sure everything is ok the first day and will pick up trash daily); (2) The location is great - convenient to shopping & restaurants but also has that "in the middle of nowhere" feel; (3) The house would comfortably hold 10-12 people (any more than that might be pushing it with only 2 bathrooms, some small beds and a dining area seating capacity of 9); (4) The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked with the notable exception of dish towels and paper towels (luckily we brought our own); (5) The heat works VERY well (there is a wood burning heater as well as electric heat); (6) There is Direct TV with a bunch of great movie channels and the theatre room was great; (7) Most everyone in our group said the beds were really comfortable; (8) The outdoor space at this cabin is fantastic - plenty of great decks, seating, a couple fun swings, and the fire pit isn't too far away from the house; and, (9) There is a landline telephone here which is a bonus - this ties into my comments below. The not-so-good and just some warnings: (1) The place could use a deep clean - most everything was "surface" clean except the showers, they needed a lot of attention and new curtain liners, and we also found some dirty dishes/silverware in the cabinets; (2) As is relatively typical for this area, the house has well water - just a warning because it does smell and a couple people in my group were pretty bothered by the smell; (3) Getting back to this cabin would be absolutely terrifying if there was snow on the ground and you didn't have AWD - VERY skinny concrete "road" back there and steep hills; (4) There is very little to no cell reception at this cabin. There is wifi but the bandwidth(?) will not support more than about 6 people being connected at the same time. Luckily there was a landline and we could give that number out to relatives in case of emergency; (5) I only saw a closet in maybe two of the bedrooms and there aren't any dressers so you may be living out of a suitcase; and, (6) Although this cabin is located on 22ac, there are also several other cabins/houses on the same acreage or close, and they are visible from this cabin. That didn't bother us but I know it might bother some people, especially since one cabin was within "yelling" distance to us and they said hi a few times. :) Overall this was a great cabin for us since everyone got their own bed and there was plenty of space to stretch out. We also had basically everything we needed to make a fabulous dinner with dessert. I'd recommend this cabin and would probably stay here again.

my husband and I have stayed here twice now. both times in the trail. first time as a couple and then we took our family back. We love the place and will return. It is secluded and you are left alone to your privacy. I did see some dust on a couple of things-but hey not any worse then I do in my own home.. haha.. The grill burner was rusted and wouldn't burn to it's full potential, but we take our own rack to put over an open fire to cook anyways. And from the time we were there last year alone, there were many updated changes this year. We love it there.
