we spent a night at Ormiston house in October of 2014 and found it to be a really pleasant and fun experience. The room was incredible, very ornate and clean. Lots of room and amenities. Mike the owner was really helpful, he even gave us goodbye muffins. The house has an amazing rooftop history room and balcony overlooking the sea.

We used Ormiston House as our base for our visit to Strahan in January. What a delightful place to stay! Caro, our host, provided detailed information on travel to Strahan well before our trip. She also organised our booking on the World a Heritage Cruise on the Gordon River prior to our arrival- this cruise was without doubt, one of...

Such a relief to find friendly and very helpful hosts after our previous B and B. Carolyn and Mike had all the local info to hand and were a great help with all our ignorant requests. Our accommodation was great and very comfortable. We were greeted with fresh muffins and milk for our tea and lots of recommendations for restaurants...

We stayed here for a couple of nights, having been recommended to stay here by our travel agent. The location in Strahan is gorgeous and it is easy to see why the house was built here originally. Mike and Carolyn work very hard to make their guests welcome and they provide lots of nice little touches. However the core of...

Thank you for taking the time to write and we appreciate the opportunity to hear our guests thoughts. I'm pleased you saw that we enjoy sharing the interesting story of Fred Henry and the significant part he played in the development of the region noticeable in the turret's gallery. The house was such an achievement and the craftsmanship has been...

We stayed for 2 nights and the place is beautiful, so full of history and well restored. You can tell that Carolyn loves what she does as she is so enthusiastic. It was nice being able to sit in the bar lounge and have a drink. Both Mike and Carolyn were helpful with places to go and visit. The muffins...

Wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your visit because maybe you'll find time to return soon. A relaxing area, but with so much that can take you away and show you our spectacular places with activities both soft and a little more adventurous. The railway is amazing, go underground and touch and feel how mining is done. My favour is...

The house has been beautifully restored and Carolyn made us feel very much at home. We had the room with the four poster bed and it was beautiful, lost of room for our stuff. Lots of things to do in and around Strahan and we really enjoyed our stay.

We have stayed in many boutique hotels & B & B''s throughout Tasmania, and I can honestly say that this is one of the best. The house is beautifully restored - an easy walk into the town centre. Carolyn is the perfect hostess - nothing is too much trouble. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Wendy & Terry

Pleased you enjoy the visit and especially our beautiful house and of course the story. The house is lovely but it is the story that gives it character and of course that's the reason I love all that I do. Apologise that it has taken me time to respond and do appreciate your words. kind regards Carolyn

We had gone to Strahan for our honeymoon 32 years ago. We had been back when our children were small. This time we decided to treat our selves. We have stayed in a few B&B's over the years both in Australia and in the UK and Europe. This rates as one of the best. We had the beautiful room with...
