Ormiston House is a beautiful federation mansion built in 1899 and fully restored to its former glory. Set amongst landscaped gardens on the shore of Macquarie Harbour at Strahan the house is resplendent with 5 en-suited guest rooms, bar and lounge, breakfast room and history room. The tower and widows walk provide views across the harbour and the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or sit back with a good book. This house is renown for its friendliness, hospitality and welcoming hosts. We feel that Ormiston House is a "must do" experience when you visit Strahan on your Tasmanian holiday.

Terry is a charming host and delights in sharing the interesting history of his property with his guests. The rooms and bathrooms need updating to bring them into line with what guests expect nowadays.

We stayed here for 2 nights in Christina. Although our hosts Peter and Jeanette cannot be faulted, that doesn’t extend to the hotel, the rooms or the services. The water in the room was cold, the curtains were faded, the place was dirty and dusty. The breakfast was second

Nice old property but a bit too old. Not as clean as it could have been either. The host was gracious but we like more modern B&B's. We changed for the next day after the Gordon cruise which is a must do when visiting Tasmania.
