We had two nights in Stanley staying at the Stanley Hotel, (which was not enough). The building was beautifully historic, but the rooms were nice and fresh with up to date comforts. We both enjoyed two dinners in the hotel bistro. The seafood and steaks were outstanding.

Just had dinner at Stanley Hotel. We were served by very pleasant and attentive staff who took our four orders promptly. Restaurant was pretty full, but service was still extremely fast. All four steaks were cooked as ordered and came with beautifully cooked fresh vegetables. We weren't going to order desserts, but seeing pavlova going to other tables changed our... More

We drove into Stanley not intending to stay but were intrigued by its old world feel and beautifully preserved buildings. We decided to get a room in the Stanley Hotel and it was a very homely feel with great views of town, bay and the Nut. Had dinner in their bistro and this was excellent.Seafood so fresh and tasty.

This is a very tidy hotel. The room was lovely. Take the shared bathroom option and spend the money you save at Moby Dick's Breakfast Bar the next morning. Really nice and not too noisy for a pub. Highly recommended

We dropped in for dinner, looking for a typical pub meal. Staff were friendly and good at what they do. The oysters were the best in Tassie and we had half a dozen in most places we visited. The baked fish was excellent. Juicy, tasty and just really well done. The Stanley pub has taken out the best meal of... More

This is the local spot for pub grub, no pretensions just good beer on demand and plenty of chips and steaks served in a large full restaurant to a noisy crowd that included the interstate firefighters having a well deserved night off. Happy with our choice for the night in a good local pub.

Helpful staff, location right in town center. Room was as described (with shared bath), clean bathroom - plus was we didn;t run into other guests using share facilities. Window didn't stay open unless held up by stick of wood, no air-conditioning, beds not overly comfortable

Stayed one night recently on a trip to Tas. Booked a two bedroom cottage with a sea view. Just fantastic. The cottage at 34 Alexander Pde was just delightful. A tastefully renovated cottage, well appointed kitchen, living area, bedroom, off street parking and a great view across the road (from upon high) of the beach, ocean and up the coast.... More

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and service during our short stay at Stanley Hotel . The web photos etc do not do justice to this historic hotel perched almost at the most northern part of Tassie . We will recommend a stay here to our fellow travellers .

Called in to the Bristro for lunch on our visit to Stanley. Great atmosphere and food served by excellent staff who couldn't be more helpful. Try the salt & pepper Calamari it was perfect. The only thing they didn't have was proper red wine glasses, just a standard small "thimble" style glass which I hate. Otherwise well worth a visit.
