We stayed in the captain Samuel cottage, it was very pleasant and a relaxing stay, the cottage was well set up it's a cross between old world charm and modern conveniences, the bathroom was new and fresh with a good size soaker tub and the bedding was comfortable, the yard area lets you relax and recharge for the next days...

The town of Ross is absolutely worth a visit, but make sure you are there early as everything closes around 4pm. The colonial Cottages are a clean and basic accommodation. Breakfast is also the basics packed and waiting in the fridge. There's port ready to be drunk which is a lovely gesture. We enjoyed our stay and loved this pretty...

Stayed here for 2 nights was nice little place had all the little nick backs of comfort and beautiful old memorabilia in the cottage as well. Found the shower little pokey but the bed was great. Ok for a stop over in distance to walk the Main Street to look at shops etc.

Booked this accommodation in the belief it would offer a unique experience for 2 older couples from New Zealand. It was much better than expected with Olde World charm but modern day comfort.lovely wood fire, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds. Off street parking. Within easy walking distance of historic features. Did not realize we should have bought food elsewhere but...

Captain Samuel's Cottage was a lovely place to stay. It had everything that was needed to make it a home away from home. Situated in Ross was idea to see some of the beautiful scenery the central Tasmania has to offer.

The Cottage is very clean, comfortable and warm. There are electric heaters or plenty of wood for the heat box. The beds have wool blankets - 'Onkaparinga Teddy'! - appropriate for a place in Sheep/Wool country. Situated in the main street of Ross, the cottage is convenient for walking all around the interesting historic town or having coffee and french...

Stayed at one of the cottages with two other couples on a recent visit to Tasmania. Firstly it was great that all of us could share the same bungalow. My wife and I were in the Gardener's Retreat room which was very comfortable and we had our own facilities e.g. microwave, kettle etc and probably the largest bathroom. The bed...

Loved the cottage, loved the river, loved the location and loved the peaches! Learning the history of the cottage enriched our experience even more. A great place to stay first night off the boat - super comfy beds and great amenities - hope to stay longer next time!

we stayed in the music room in one of these cute cottages in the lovely town of Ross. Although the host was charming, this was a a very average b&b experience. The queen size four poster bed was comfortable but in a smallish room overcrowded with furniture. The breakfast was so disappointing. Tasmanian produce is famously delicious and available everywhere,...

Absolutely beautiful with it's stone walls and colonial character, felt like we were living in another time. The open fire, four poster bed and antique furniture felt like grandma's house. We took our little dog who was allowed to sleep inside on his bed. The Ross hotel just down the road had the best meals and there is a wood...
