We really appreciated staying in a special place with both comfort, welcome and the combination of some lovely gardens in a heritage setting. We were glad we had allocated some of our time in the area to enjoy walking the gardens that have been created here and enjoyed chatting with our hosts. This would be a highlight on any tour...

"Old Wesleydale" is a beautiful old country estate consisting of historic grounds with an original Georgian residence and a self contained stone cottage (formerly the creamery) where guests can stay. The cottage has been tastefully renovated and it is cosy and comfortable. Basic breakfast provisions were provided. The most enjoyable part of our stay were the magnificent gardens and grounds....

Old Wesleydale is a tastefully decorated stone cottage on a magnificent old country estate. The cottage was so cosy and welcoming, the gardens are beautiful, the old farm buildings are full of history and the hosts were very gracious. What a wonderful experience!

You can travel using this as a base, or just stay put and have a holiday in a unique and beautiful setting. We came home early so we...

Stay in the Buttery next to the main house to access the owners' warm hospitality and amazing English-style gardens which surround their lovely Georgian house. A must for keen gardeners and history buffs alike.

Had a lovely visit here for the open garden, I loved it because it is very English in style, has lovely buildings and views. Well worth a visit and the accommodation looks very nice. We chose well! Upon arrival the imposing 'Fortress Barn' and rock wall enclosure made an immediate and lasting impression. The owners have made an impressive effort in accurately renovating this 1830's frontier fortified farmstead into an attractive home and B&B accommodation. The grounds have revealed cobbled paving and the old almost derelict dairy/creamery has been lovingly converted by the owner...
