We have stayed in a few eco retreats around Australia and Freycinet Eco Retreat is easily in the top 3. We stayed in Lodge 2 and had spectacular views of The Hazards and surrounding bay, and experienced a real serenity in genuine luxury. The wallaby and her joey who visited us on two occasions was an added delight to our... More

We do not know where to start with place. Phillippa and Virginia have really nailed it. The location is picturesque, looking down toward the coast with 180 degree ocean views. We stayed in an Ocean View Eco Studio King Chalet and loved it. The room had all we needed and more. My wife was very excited when she discovered that... More

We had an amazing time at Freycinet Eco retreat. View from the lodge was fantastic. You get wildlife right outside your door step. The lodge was thoughtfully designed and built with quality. Little things like having salt pepper, butter, cling wraps and foil made cooking very convenient in the lodge. There was also a complimentary half bottle of Pinot noir... More

The Freycinet Eco Retreat is THE place to 'retreat' to to escape the world and just quieten down for a few days. The set up in the rooms is practical, accomodating and of high quality. The lodge is not large, but very well set up and the sustainable practices are very well implemented. There is no restaurant onsite, but Philippa... More

If you want to be in town this is not for you. The town is about 10 kilometers away, with it's basic shops. This is a hidden gem a few kilometers drive along a private gravel road up a mountain. The views are spectacular as is the nature and wildlife all around. We never saw the owners/managers but the entry... More

A lovely little cabin with awesome views out to sea over the Friendly Beaches. Absolute peace & quiet with the local wallabies happy to join you when you're out on the deck. The cabin itself isn't large but it's well stocked with everything needed and the kitchenette is large enough to prepare a decent meal if you don't wish to... More

Philippa and Virginia were informative and welcoming probably in reverse order. This is a fabulous setting and a wonderful experience. No enough stars to describe. It is self catering so you need a bit of planning but that is half the fun. Thoroughly enjoyable, national park close by get there early if a busy time

Be prepared for a long journey off the beaten track when you arrive at the retreat. But when you do, it is well worth the drive - you feel as if you are the only people for miles. It is totally secluded and absolutely beautiful. The bed is one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and it's... More

Yes, it is a 4km drive from the highway to the accommodation, but most guests find that experience part of the excitement and well worth it. The clue is, after all, in the name… With regards to the shower – it’s a real shame that you didn’t mention the problem that you were having with the shower during your stay,... More

We stayed two nights in an eco-cabin. From the outside these look very plain (we jokingly called it 'the shed') but inside the design is superb. Everything is very well thought-out. Extremely comfortable bed. Very quiet environment, and a lovely ocean view. Lots of wallabies to be seen in the car park too. The gravel road to the property is... More

This is a lovely place to stay if you like peace and quiet, beautiful views, wildlife encounters and comfortable, well equipped accommodation. Opposite the marine farm for great shellfish and close to the National Park for walks and views.
