Just spent three days here with the family. We came as a couple over 12 years ago and wow what a difference! Last time was a luxurious experience whereas this time it was all very average and felt 'cheap'. The main issue is that this is obviously a chain business with everything priced to just to make a profit. I...

It was most pleasant returning to Peppers for another visit. A cabin overlooking the small fly fishing lake, alpine type meadow with abundant wildlife, rufus wallabies, wombat, rabbits and a multitude of bird life. Very good food and service with a comprehensive Tasmanian wine list.

Second visit here. Overall impression this time round similar to first time - has the unrealised potential to be really good! Good things first. It is in a terrific location amid the wildlife and the rain forest. Despite what you might read in other comments there is nothing 'faux' about any of it but remember you are on the edge...

If you want to get close to the wilderness, this is the place to go! We saw wombats walking freely amongst our accommodation, the spa was world class, all the food outlets were amazing. The walk around Dove Lake was also great for beginners! The staff at Peppers were really friendly and helpful. A wonderful experience!

Everything is mediocre, faux wilderness accommodation, poor food, stingy breakfast. Service is indifferent. Selection and quality of food is bad. Lounges are dark and dingy; ambience is stifling. Not up to Peppers standard. An opportunity missed to make this location something special. Very disappointing!

Arrived at the lodge for our two night package with spa and degustation meal and cheese and wine tasting over the 2 nights in a deluxe king spa log fired cabin #94. The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful with the wines however the degustation menu isn't actually a separately set menu, it happens to be a choice of...

So I accidentally screwed up my booking for a Pine suite so we ended up having to upgrade our booking to the King Billy Suite. I was excited as I've never stayed somewhere for $800 per night and thought it was going to be amazing, this was sadly not the case. We arrived at our cabin and I was impressed...

We were in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. Wombats, Pandemelons and Echidnas wandered past! Just charming. The main house has lovely wood fires which are so welcoming in the evening. The food is OK but not fine dining. The menu stayed the same which was a surprise. Breakfasts are good. Worth the trip.

This was to be the highlight of our first trip to Tasmania. We were blessed by one of the 12 days of the year Cradle Mountain experiences clear blue sky and sunshine! The omens were good. Checkin was uber-efficient, primarily due to Melina on reception, who was a very upbeat and likeable person. Travelling with another local couple, we checked...

At Cradle Mountain, you'll soon discover that fine food and wine are an unavoidable part of this rustic holiday. This superb escape showcases the best Tasmania has to offer with warm hospitality, sensational locally produced food and wine, breathtaking scenery and magnificent wilderness surrounds. The Lodge itself is warm and inviting with open fires, comfy chairs and cosy spots, perfect for enjoying the postcard views or just relaxing. Around Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge there are more than 20 walking trails that suit every fitness level. Imagine wandering through towering forests with trees older than mankind. Discover animal and plant varieties found nowhere else on earth. The Kimberley bridge in between Elizabeth town and Railton on the B13 is closed until further notice as the bridge has collapsed. The C138 from Mole Creek to Gowrie Park is inaccessible as the road has been closed due to the recent flooding. The C137 however from Mole Creek through Paradise just outside of Sheffield is open and a good way to bypass around the closures.
