Wow what a great place. Clean, well maintained and great service. Best place to stay in Tasmania. Located in the Main Street is close to everything. Breakfast was excellent. Great price. Staff were more that pleasant and very helpful. I will be back

Thanks for your review of your visit to Foxhunters Return in November last year. We would like to advise TripAdvisor members that we no longer offer accommodation at Foxhunters but that our heritage bookshop, The Book Cellar, is open seven days a week in the convict built cellars under the property.

This was a delightful stop on our way to Hobart. My sister and I browsed through the books, drank wonderful coffee and admired the old building. The proprietor was friendly and helpful when asked about a book. The best coffee maker!

This is our second visit here and this time we brought friends with us. We really enjoyed the charm of the property and the friendliness of the staff. I felt like I was taken back in history in a modern way. Breakfast was lovely and served in a beautiful front room. Our friends enjoyed the tour of the place and...

Our three night stay at the Foxhunters Return was very pleasant, and Michael the host was especially welcoming and friendly. Each morning, after a delicious continental breakfast in the charming front room, we would head off to tour the local area - it was always nice to return to our comfy room at the inn after a busy day. At...

I've stayed here a couple of times when having business meetings over a couple of days at Campbell Town. First off it is very easy to locate and access is easy. Convenient off road parking. Friendly welcome and information provided about the area. You will need to grab an evening meal at one of the eateries a short walk away...

Stayed here one night and really enjoyed being there . The room was comfortable and the shower great. The breakfast was sufficient but having the open fire while you drank coffee and ate croissants was a real delight . The tour that goes with the cost of your stay is well worth it .

We called in off the street on the chance of a vacancy and were fortunate. We ended up spending 3 nights here. Had a fantastic room on the first floor with separate entry, bathroom and a huge bedroom. All was well furnished and very comfortable. The host (Michael) was very friendly and provided a historical tour of the property providing...

We loved the property and the welcome was good. But, We were late for breakfast... FYI it's between 7.30 and 8.30, but not in the welcoming manual. The lady serving us made it very clear it was inconvenient (we got there at 8.30) to have us. We did have breakfast and we were told to leave the key in the...

I apologize for what you took to be "attitude" from as staff member when you missed the breakfast service. That you felt you were receiving attitude is a major concern whether it was intended or not. Either way It was inappropriate and I have spoken to the staff member about it. To correct you on one point our guest compendium...

Staying in the comfortable accommodation at Fox Hunters Return, where some of the buildings are convict-built, was a treat at the end of our families trip around Tasmania. After spending some of our trip sleeping in tents, we loved the comfortable beds and bathroom, the generous breakfast with fresh fruit muffins and the short tour of the buildings. Friendly hosts....

Thanks for the advice to potential guests about arriving early to ensure they get plenty of time to spend in our wonderful bookshop - The Book Cellar. The hard work of creating a fabulous bookshop from scratch in the old convict cellars under Foxhunters is rewarded every time someone exclaims "Wow" as they enter and take in this wonderful space...
