Glen Osborne House was built in 1885 and has been meticulously restored by the current owners Del and Merv. The walls are covered in beautiful pictures and artifacts and the rooms are furnished to match the period, even down to light switches, shower head and taps. We stayed in the Lily Room which measured about 430 square feet and was...

First time like a B&B over a hotel. Just like your grandparents are waiting for you coming home. Merv is so nice that he rang me three times after I checked out for I've left my pyjama in the room. I'd really like to try their hot breakfast but I was in a hurry. I'll definitely come back next time.

I stayed at G.O. this week and have stayed before. The main house is a beautiful 19th C Victorian home, tastefully restored. The rooms are large and comfortable yet simple. The dining room is beautifully set with Noritake China which complements the room so well. There's plenty of parking. It's a 10 minute walk into town. Merv and his wife...

We had a lovely stay with Del and Merv in the Rose room. Very spacious and comfortable, and heating was perfect, particularly having electric blankets! Del's breakfast is substantial! We used this as our base to explore the north west part of Tasmania, and Del was ready to help us out with brochures and information.

Walking up the broad porch steps and then entering the Glen Osborne House brings to mind Scarlet O’Hara’s plantation home in Gone with the Wind. A gorgeous well-appointed stately mansion, immaculately decorated and filled with fascinating artwork and objects - historic photos, souvenirs from around the world, lovely gardens. Merv and Del are welcoming, friendly and helpful; their breakfast was...

This old mansion has been beautifully restored by the owners. We spent a night in the beautiful Rose Room and returned for an extra night two days later. Our hosts were delightful and are great cooks - we had a lovely hot breakfast, sitting at a bay window surrounded by lace, beautiful paintings and exquisite gold leaf on the pressed...

We only spent one night here (unfortunately) in the Rose room. A classic & beautiful house high on the hill in Burnie. Lovely hosts, beautiful furnishings, great breakfast, would have loved to stay longer.

We stayed at Glen Osbourne House in August 2014 for two nights. We had the Rose Room upstairs. This is a Grand Manor, clean, comfortable, gracious hosts, and a great cooked breakfast. We will stay again when next in Burnie. Only thing missing was Wi-Fi.
