We were looking for a last minute romantic night away and booked the spa suite. From the minute we arrived the stay was disappointing. We expected "old world charm", instead, what we got was "run down and dingy". The carpets were worn and threadbare in places, paint was peeling and the furniture looked like it was the original furniture from...

When I rang to book our stay I was told that changes were happening at the guest house so I wasn't sure how it would all pan out. However I decided to go ahead and book because of the good reviews I had seen on various websites. This was the first night of a weekend away for my partners birthday...

Needs complete refurbishment - This hotel is not quaint old Australian - i don't think it's been decorated since it was built around early 1900's. Do not be fooled by any good reviews - they can only come from people who sadly live in abject poverty ! See photos - we were meant to stay two nights - cancelled second...

We stayed here for just one night. The lady who checked us in was very nice. Our room was very basic and the hotel was very charming. I must say at night that I was kept awake by the sounds of freight trains. The hotel needs renovation but has an old charm of it's own. If you want a no...

It had been a while since we last stayed at the Victoria and Albert and wondered how the old place was fairing. We were pleased to find that little had changed, the old world charm remains in abundance. For such a big place it is easy to find a comfortable corner to spend time reading a book, playing a game...

Just the most delicious scones and lunch! Friendly staff that you could not fault. The service and food both exceeded expectations. $25 for the meal for 3. We ate there a few years ago and it's always nice. Nice outlook and garden. Highly recommended. We will visit again.

We stayed at the Victoria and Albert Guesthouse for a weekend (three nights). This isn't a modern, all bright and new place. Walk through the front doors of this magnificent building, and you step back in time to an age of touring almost forgotten. The rooms are clean and tidy, plenty of hot water for the shower and the wide...

The way travelling used to be, sleep in your room, eat with others in the saloon, drink with other guests. Beautiful guest house filled with antique furniture, kid friendly, great atmosphere, great hosts. Great value too! Will definitely return.

We stayed here over the Queen's Birthday weekend for 2 nights. We chose this property for it's heritage listing which did not disappoint. Loved dinner here and relaxing with a glass of wine beside the open fire. Excellent breakfast and cannot fault the staff. However, our bedroom was freezing cold and we were disturbed early in the morning by a...

If you are after glitz and glamour you won't find it here but if you are after some relaxed atmosphere, great food cooked by Roman, friendly staff and warming up next to the fireplace - look no further!
