We spent the last night of a month touring NZ and Australia at Balquhain Manor and it was the perfect place to finish. We arrived in a tired and filthy state after trekking in the mountains and were completely restored by the wonderfully friendly welcome and lovely hot showers. It felt like a real home from home. Every comfort was...

my husband and I recently spent four days to celebrate our wedding anniversary at Balquain. It was the most enjoyable and relaxing four days we have ever spent. This beautiful home is close to Blackheath and many walking trails. The delightful owners Paul and Cathy couldn't do enough to ensure our stay was all we had dreamed of. They welcomed...

Wonderful hosts with prompt and helpful communication and suggestions. Lovely home and grounds which they obviously love and take great pride in, and enjoy showing people around. Very comfortable bed and had two loungerooms to ourselves! plenty of books, activities (tennis court, croquet, etc) and photography opportunities! Pottered around, checked out at 11; will come back with two or three...

What a wonderful B&B! Spacious guest areas, comfortable & quiet rooms, friendly hosts. Set on several acres of green, with massive trees and even a tennis court, yet so close to the township and National Park walks. Great place to base yourself if you want to do any or all of the walks in the Grose Valley area.

Walk the other way and you end up in Blackheath village where you can get a very good meat pie or a good cup of coffee. The house itself has lovely grounds - fantastic trees, a duck followed by ducklings, lovely lawns...

Want a super place to stay in the Blue Mountains area. Try the Blackheath Township B&B, called "Balquhain Manor House" (www.balquhain.com.au). We were two couples from Vancouver BC and stayed for two evenings. Like staying in someon's grand manor. Very expansive well maintained grounds (3 or 4 acres). Long circular gravel driveway leads up to huge mansion of a house....
