Excellent place to spend time away from it all. Away from high rise hotels, cars, noise. Nothing much to do other than look at the sea, drink margaritas on the beach and eat very good fish. Water great for snorkeling.

Pretty awesome place. Unique. Rooms have sensational views. Pool is awesome. Beach is right there. You'll hear the surf all night long. Our room was spacious and the windows opened wide. A big patio too. Don't expect to be pampered with AC, TV, In-Room refrigerator, etc.. These rooms have thatched roofs. They're airy. The bathroom was fine. Yelapa is HOT....

Tho by going to Yelapa you accept the fact of a rustic stay, Lagunitas does not offer the basic amenities or cleanses. The shower and room were infested by spiders and bugs. If you are ok with the stay, I recommend spending only one night there as there is joy much to do in Yelapa and the prices of all...

This hotel if I can call it that is a dump . I have stayed here at least three times and I vowed the last time never to return . The rooms are crumbling apart and they were not very nice to begin with . I love rustic charm which this isn't . It's a rusty dump , The owners...

We loved this hotel. I had read it was rustic, so expected so much less than what we found. The grounds are gorgeous and lovingly cared for. The pool setting spectacular, refreshing, and clean. We had a palapa along the beach. Two double beds, clean bathroom with hot water. Definitely need bug spray. Only complaint: the ocean was SO loud...

We had been to Yelapa for an extrusion with our travel club a year ago. We wanted to stay there when we came back to Nuevo Vallarta. Stayed 2 nights and had a great time. The rooms are close to the water so you will definitely hear the waves crashing in all night. Bring ear plugs if you are a...

If you want an incredible getaway, Hotel Lagunita is the place! It is rustic, at the base of the jungle and on the lip of the ocean. It does not pretend to be anything other than it is and I noticed this trip that some things have been updated and upgraded...as much as you can in the jungle! You'll find...

This place is at the quieter end of the beach. We didn't stay at the hotel but used the bar every day. Staff were great, prices low and both food and drinks were awesome. We tried the bars in the middle - they were busier and more expensive

This place is fabulously located on the beach in Yelapa, with stunning views from your room, and walk out access to the beach and pier. From a distance, it looks like paradise. Up closer, some warts. We somewhat knew what to expect of the rooms based on all of the reviews we read, and were not "surprised" at the rustic...

I've been going here for 40 years, and little change ..... except now there is real electricity (not a generator) and WiFi on the beach. Every room is creatively rustic Mexican, and different. Staff is superb and attentive, and the restaurant has consistently great meals, - and at night and sunset, with tables on the beach, and candles; is special beyond...

“My best advice would be to stay away until the owners fix it up”
  • Tarpaulins covering parts of the roof instead of proper palapa maintenance
  • someone else's discarded coconut with straw adorning our cheap plastic table for two days.
  • Bathroom light fixture falling out of the wall
  • Place for former toilet roll holder!
  • Warped sink counter top with poorly maintained and functioning taps.
