We booked through Secret Escapes and booked a feature room - we stayed in Holly. The room was quaint and dated pre Oliver Cromwell. Very comfortable bed and lovely shower room. We had dinner on both nights- slightly confusing as we had one dinner with the package- but unless you questioned the menus you would not have all of this...

I booked through secret escapes & am soo glad that I didn't pay full price. We got there quite late on a Friday night & sat in the bar, it was dead, no atmosphere at all. We ordered some bar food which was ok but not great but as we were quite hungry it was eaten. The bed in the...

I like this hotel. Its very impressive from the outside. Lit up well at night. Room was lovely. Didn't get the chance to try dinner. Breakfast was ok (didn't like the oil the eggs were fried in - no ketchup out - but yes I am nitpicking!). Service was great. All staff I came into contact with were lovely. Room...

The word "golf" appended to the name of a hotel - as in "Golf Hotel" or "Hotel & Golf Club" usually has me sinking into a cloud of depression. It's the car parks, I think - full of all those blokes in plaid breeks and pringle sweaters, prepping their golf bags and getting ready to ruin a perfectly good day...

Staying for work, not too impressed. Room was tiny and really dated. Bed was very 'used'. Shower head was very grimy. Used the gym. Not sure it could be called a gym really. Very small, nothing particularly useful and no room of more than 3 people in there. Food was good. Hence three stars. Breakfast was ok too, but a...

We stayed on Sat 4 March and attended the Motown Tribute Evening. The receptionist was welcoming and pleasant. Our room in the annexe was a delight, spacious and clean. The Dreamettes put on an excellent show but the highlight for me was the catering. I am gluten and dairy free and had informed the hotel when making the booking. They...

I took a team of 10 on a 2 day training course at the Nailcote - very reasonable. The building is quintessentially English and my room was amazing, the pool and grounds are epic! The food was also great - I'd highly recommend it.

Great service. Spacious room and lovely swimming pool. Were able to accommodate me with a slightly early weekend breakfast. Also had dinner in the Oak Room which was very good. It was a bit of a labyrinth to walk to the room at the back of the new block but being at end of corridor it was quiet. Only small...

Me and my partner went along to dinner midweek after hearing such great reviews and we weren't disappointed! We were waited on amazingly by the staff and sat down next to a lovely open fire to set the mood. Food was incredible with lots of choice and displayed beautifully on the plate. I had the scallops, lamb and toffee pudding...

Historic setting , in rural location . All staff were friendly and professional and took care of us very well. Seating area was private from other diners in a cosy room with log fire. The afternoon tea was delicious with a good variety of sandwiches alongside scones with cream and preserve, followed by creme brulee, toasted marshmallows and two types...
