Stayed here for two nights had a great welcome from the staff. Went to the bulding where the rooms were and the security door was not locked. The rooms were very outdated amd a tad run down. There was only one plug in the whole room. And the heater took ages to heat up also the tv volume was pity... More

We had a small standard double room. It was booked online so we got it cheap but it was a good job. The shower had was all grimey so I washed it with my wipes as I did the sink and toilet. Then the net curtain had a big split in and the pillows were a bit uncomfortable. The room... More

Came here to stay over for a night out in Newcastle with a few friends. Staff threatened to kick us out at 5am for being "to loud" which I know we weren't, wouldn't recommend coming here if your having a night out at all! It's cheap, but not practical. Walls are paper thin, so I couldn't even breath without being... More

We booked four nights at £39 per night plus breakfast. Our first impression wasn't good, the Hotel is very dated, however it does have some good points, the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the water was nice and hot and the Breakfast was cooked to order and very good value. The staff are very friendly and it seems... More

Stayed here for one night at the last minute due to business. Where do I start? The hotel was a complete nightmare. Booked a double room on the first floor on late rooms.com. There was an overpowering stench as soon as I walked into the room. The room was very dated and well overdue a refurbishment. The mattress on the... More

Urgh! Dingy coloured wood chip on the walls, old faded and battered lamps, hardly any sockets. So pleased I was only staying one night, the room was so depressing and not particularly cheap. You'd be better off in a travelodge.

When my husband and I arrived we checked in and found out they had put my disabled mother on the second floor they said they had no ground floor rooms left, we swapped our room with my mothers cos we was on the first floor just so she didn't have to climb so many stairs, when I told my mother... Clean and comfortable room. Full English breakfast cooked to order. We are no longer as nimble as we used to be and there is no lift (elevator) at the hotel. Our room was on the second floor! Steam from a guest taking an early morning shower triggered the fire alarm, waking us an hour earlier than we needed.

I'm afraid we were disappointed with our recent stay here. The staff were very welcoming on arrival. However the accommodation block still smells of cigarettes, the mattresses are poor quality with prominent springs, the noise insulation was poor and there was only one available plug in the room. I'm afraid there are much nicer budget hotels out there.

We were running late on a return trip from the Highlands, and needed a stopover at short notice. Zoe from reception was most helpful, and we secured a very reasonable room, at a very good rate. There was no hesitation, as soon as she saw my stick, and the disabled badge on the car she placed us in a ground... More
