I start with the good. We stayed over the Easter weekend and, in general, had a great time. The hotel and its gardens are lovely. The package I bought for the two of us included dinner on the first night, and the food was enjoyable but not exceptional. We used the pool and sauna/steam rooms and didn't find them bad...

Let's start with the the food as it was the only redeeming part of our stay. We both fatherly enjoyed dinner and breakfast at the hotel. However we were majorly let down but the room. We stayed in room 66 and it was not at all what we expected. The bathroom was so dirty we decided to leave early and...

This is a nice hotel of the manor type, with the large wooden staircase and mullioned windows features. This is the second Macdonald hotel I have stayed in, the other was in Stratford upon Avon and they are similar; potentially beautiful but looking a bit tired, perhaps suffering from a lack of investment. The staff were very respectful and attentive,...

Called them three times to enquire about a weekend spa break in one of their suites, but as they seemed unable to answer the phone, it looks like I shall be taking my money elsewhere. What a shame. I would have thought that answering the 'new reservation' phone line would have been a priority...apparently not!

Staff were great in helping with my booking but the room is small, dingy and shabby. Not enough towels and they are definitely not thick white fluffy ones. The plug doesn't fit the bath and the bath is a water saving shape so you cannot stretch out and enjoy it. Unless there are no other hotels available in the area...

A friend of mine had won a voucher for Cream Tea for two at The Frimley Hall Hotel, and she took me along as a birthday treat. We were shown into a large room with comfy chairs and a log fire which was most welcoming as it was a cold, wet day. The Cream Tea itself was good, two warm...

My Mum and I visited for a spa weekend, with treatments, dinner and breakfast included. At one point, the hotel staff tried to make us sit in the bar with wedding guests whilst in our spa robes!...
