The hotel was fine. We had booked into a basic room as they were the only ones available and it was just that. It was clean and most of the staff were friendly and polite. Things that could improve the room dramatically would be to have a plug socket either side of the bed.

Unless you have a hotel booking which says the Waterpark is included free of charge (you still have to click to add it as an extra to your booking) then there is an additional charge. It’s advisable to book online in advance as there are strict number limits so it sells out on a regular basis. If you have a Merlin Annual Pass then you still have to pay but at a discounted rate which again can be booked online through the Alton Towers site. You have to give the membership numbers and take cards with you when you go
