Karslake House is not a 'Country Guest House' and hasn't been for several years. It's a rental cottage (and a superb one) whose owners, John and Carole, live in another part of the former guest house next door. Karslake House is in the centre of the row, the cottage to the left, Karslake Cottage, being under separate ownership. It is...

This is a recent addition as a holiday cottage rental separate from the guest house itself. We found it by accident when we were unable to book the accommodation we had chosen, and very glad we did. The property has been beautifully renovated to create a real character cottage with everything you would want. The accommodation comprises 3 bedrooms with...

We stayed in Karslake Cottage with our 2 medium sized dogs for a week in May 2012 and then again for a week in June 2013 [need I say more], in the picturesque village of Winsford in the centre of Exmoor NP. It was a real gem of a find. I can’t add much more than the praise the two...

Looking for a rural location but not too isolated - Karslake Cottage could be for you. Attached to the Guest House. A lovely spacious cottage. Clean. Had all the kitchen utensils you would have at home and some. Having a washing machine and a dryer; something I find is a must in a British cottage as you never know what...

We have just come back from a girls week away at Karslake Cottage, Winsford. The cottage is comfortable & clean & beautifully decorated whilst retaining lots of character & quirky features. The garden, although terraced, was a haven of peace with only bees, birds & the occasional passing horse to be heard. The Village itself is pretty & friendly &...

A group of 8 gentlemen rented the whole of the house which is now a holiday rental property. It was originally a hotel so is a bit quirky as it still has a bar, bar lounge and set up as a hotel. Very dated with a 70ish feel about it but to a certain extent this adds to its character....

A reasonable hotel, generally clean although the fabric around the four poster bed wasn't very clean, neither was the headboard (dusty). The decor seems to date back to the 1970's, I doubt much has been done since then. Breakfast was hearty but simple, pretty standard English breakfast (a sausage, 2 rashers of bacon, a tomato, 4 mushrooms & black pudding)...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Karslake this weekend and had a lovely time. We felt very welcome, as the hosts were flexible with when we could have breakfast, served us a nice pot of tea when we arrived and had lots of information about good local walks. The room was very comfy - the bed was like sleeping in...

We love this b & b. always stay here when visiting Exmoor. The hospitality is fantastic. Rooms are lovely and spacious. It's like a home from home. Karslake is in a quaint village with thatched pub.

I have stayed at Karslake twice now and each time I have been impressed with the level of service. The hosts are extremely flexible and accommodating and work hard to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Karslake itself is clean, tidy, well presented and the food is great. In summary, I would definitely recommend it.
