The positives, evening food and breakfast were OK! They are obviously short staffed as everything seems a bit rushed. Simple things like being asked if you would like any sauce with that are forgotten. The negatives, I could go on all day about the room I stayed in! I have stayed away at least once a week for at least...

My wife and I went for the Sunday roast dinner at about 1-30pm. Considering everything: Quality, quantity & price, I reckon it was probably the best (non-carvery) roast I've had. Plenty of lovely tasty gravy.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at the unicorn in Somerton. The food was fresh and the portions ample. The staff were very efficient and friendly Thank you for a wonderful family lunch eaten in a country pub with a roaring open fire.

Made the mistake of staying here on a Saturday night. Given a room overlooking the smokers' area (Bear garden would be a better description). Kept awake until 3 a.m. with whooping and screaming. Next day tried to get some re-dress. The 'Sujpervisor' denied she was there the night before and then in the next breath told me she had shut...

Service was very good, friendly and attentive, very reasonable prices and the food was well presented and well cooked. Themed Special Offers available on most nights of the week as well as lunch times. Would recommend to anyone. Only downside was the fact that there were a couple of leaks in the Gents toilets which need attention.

Visited hotel on a Sunday evening when staying at a local B&B. It was quiet but not deserted, the staff were very accommodating and helpful. Food was excellent and portions were a little challenging but very wholesome. Service was excellent and they had some very good ale.

Visited the Unicorn on Tuesday evening which is advertised as curry night - (curry and a pint for £9). Although their website states it;s curry night and the signs outside and inside state it's curry night apparently it's pie night!! Still ordered a curry but no pint with it, no choice of rice offered or chutney with poppadom as menu...

Just what we needed a good hotel in a great location with very friendly staff. Visiting friends in the locality we needed somewhere to eat our head. The Unicorn is just right. Not flash, but a good pub and nice room which is really comfortable. Recommend it to anyone looking to stay in a really nice little town. Reception was...

I have no idea what the other reviews on here are on about - it is a lovely inn with all you could need and ask for. Clean, well presented rooms that are cosy yet modern. I had a shower ensuite but no bath, but that was fine. If you need early nights it might not be the best place...

“Book the hotel down the road!”
  • Shabby bathroom chair complete with last unfortunate inhabitant's used towel!
  • Mouldy skylight
  • Nub end of soap kindly left by previous unfortunate inhabitant.
  • Corner bath
  • Tiny olde worlde door with green safety light above it which lights up the room all night.
