Set in the beautiful village of Porlock Somerset, this is the gateway to Exmoor National Park, itself an area of outstanding natural beauty. The hotel is clearly owned and managed independently (always a good sign). Very relaxed and friendly staff and 'Tigger' our dog was made just as welcome as we were. Really dog friendly, we had a room, sadly... More

We never would have found this place if all the Hotels in Minehead were not fully booked. We were made very welcome on our arrival by the Proprieter Paul and his wife even though they were extremely busy. Our accommodation was excellent as we had what seemed a whole flat to ourselves ie two bedrooms, living room/kitchen and a small... More

We stayed here over night. The room was very comfortable with an ensuite shower room. We had the breakfast which was really good and you get a good choice of cereals and cooked breakfasts. Very friendly and welcoming, although very limited parking available. There is a larger carpark just a little way down the road

The staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Six people and two dogs had comfortable rooms and everything we needed. Not smart or high end, but if you just need somewhere good to sleep and an excellent breakfast, then this place is ideal.

We had a nice meal and the food was great. The rooms were clean. The staff were nice and attentive to us. We would definitely come back and stay again. I would recommend this hotel to friends if they were in the area.

Are you looking for new paint on the walls? Well if that rocks your boat as being the top requirement in a break then go elsewhere. If, however you are looking for a quirky hotel then this is the place for you.even the guests were welcoming! Very dog friendly. Parking on site a bit restricted but a car park 1... More

Stayed at the Lorna Doone over a weekend using it as a base for the North Somerset and Devon coast. As advised had to eat out on Sunday but this only showed us how good Mondays meal was. Rooms small but more than adequate with the advantage for us of a great view over Porlock. All very friendly and would... More

We spent a week in Porlock. Dined out at Lorna Doone once. It was fine. Great meal and service. WI-FI worked well. I would happily go back. Centrally located in the village just a short walk from where we were staying.

This is an ideal place to stay, relax and explore Exmoor from. Extremely friendly owners and staff. Dog friendly. Very clean and tidy, even though a little tired round the edges. The new owners are working hard to make this an excellent experience for you.

During a recent 3 day stay in Porlock, we were recommended the Lorna Doone Hotel for an evening meal. We went there on a Monday evening & although we felt that we were not served as promptly as hotel guests & locals, we could not really find fault & the service was friendly. Most of the tables were taken by... More
