Just finished our second visit and loved it just as much. Beautiful cottage, a few steps from a wonderful pub! It's also dog friendly with thoughtful touches to make you stay relaxed and enjoyable. What makes Myrtle Cottage so special, apart from the beauty of the house, the fabulous breakfasts and the location, are Janet and Nigel who are perfect...

We find it hard to find a family and asthma friendly place to stay. Nigel and Janet have been super stars in making use feel welcome and fulfilling our requirements. We didn't need to bring extra baby things as a travel cot with padded bedding, high chair, a box of toys and books we're provided. A good sized room with...

Six visits to Myrtle Cottage again this year. Six relaxing breaks being wonderfully looked after by Janet and Nigel. Love the cosy feel of the cottage and the thoughtful extras that'll make it the perfect place to unwind. Our thanks again. See you next year.

Myrtle Cottage is a lovely 17th century cottage convieniently situated on Porlock main street. The rooms provide all the facilities expected. I was in the family room at the top of the house in the eaves, the stairs to this room are definitely quirky! The room is actually two room divided by a curtain, one part with a double and...

We absolutely loved Myrtle Cottage. We called it our "hobbit house". It had such a warm, homey feeling. It was clean, comfortable, and perfectly located in Porlock. Nigel and Janet were the nicest, gracious hosts, serving a wonderful breakfast, and having lots of suggestions for walks to take. We thoroughly enjoyed our day hikes out of Porlock. Going to Porlock...

We were invited to a family do of a relative who lives in Porlock. We decided to have a little break and spent three nights at Myrtle Cottage. It is claimed to be the oldest house in the village. We had a warm cosy and very comfortable bedroom. The breakfasts were delicious, local produce and a superb fruit salad. The...

Myrtle Cottage is a very old quirky building, and is a very interesting building. It is well located in the middle of Porlock village and has parking for four cars, although the parking spaces are a bit tight. The room we stayed in was comfortable and en-suite, although being in the roof of the cottage, access to the room is...

We stayed here for the second time a week or so ago. Last time we thought it was excellent. This time confirmed our earlier opinion, this is a very nice place to stay. Your hosts make you feel so welcome. They can offer advice on places to eat etc. The cottage has real charm and character. Some bathrooms may be...
