We visited as part of am offer run by the Inn which gives free accommodation when you spend £100 on food and drink during the Winter. The welcome and service was excellent and after the challenging walk to Culbone church we enjoyed a drink by the open fire. Our evening meal was wonderful with a great bottle of Merlot which...

Brilliant hotel, middle of nowhere, great views over the moors. Very quiet. Spent one night here on 9th December while visiting family. Brilliant staff, very helpful. We booked to visit with my parents in law for one night having seen their free accommodation offer ( spend £100 on food and drink and stay for nothing!). We thought the Colbone looked lovely as soon as we pulled into the car park and we weren't disappointed when we went inside , we particularly liked the log burner being...

Having eaten here on previous holidays to Porlock Weir, we decided to book a room for three nights before staying in a cottage. Weather isn't great. Well, it's chucking it down, but a pint or four of Tribute sorts that out. The room is great (ground floor because we have the dog with us). Maybe needs a little TLC, but...

Our room was excellent with views towards Exmoor. Everything we needed after a days walking was provided. On the Saturday we decided to have...

Wonderful location and views! The staff are really friendly and accommodating. Note:- the water to The Culbone is supplied from springs that are pumped into tanks for shower, bathroom facilities, etc. Unfortunately, on our stay, there had been a power cut overnight and the pumps to the tank that fed our room had not been filled, hence a few drips...

I'd recommend the Culbone to others staying in the region. It's up on the moor, which has many attractions (though means you have to drive if you want to eat somewhere else). A good base for exploring the region -- on the main road, so easy to find, and the road isn't much travelled (or wasn't in September) so not...
