What a beautiful place! Home from home and made to feel very welcome. Greeted with hot tea and fresh, warm, sumptuous chocolate cake, the best I have ever had. The bedrooms were lovely and bed linen crisp and white. Lovely tea/coffee tray too. Breakfast was amazing, such choice and so fresh and even specials of the day served, American pancakes... More

We stayed in one of the two self catering flats at Glen Lodge. The flat was very comfortable; the conversion has been done to a high standard and it was well equipped and cosy. The owners are very helpful with lots of info about local walks, etc. Good walking starts at the gate to Glen Lodge which is great, but... More

Brilliant, albeit, very short stay due to traffic and an early start on the Saturday morning. I fabulous location, beautiful place to stay. Will most definitely be returning to Glen Lodge and hopefully be able to stay longer next time.

Brilliant. Meryl is a great cook and is up for anything requested. She made me an mouth watering orange cake which I will never forget. Well worth staying as not only is the house a wonderful place so to are the owners. Breakfast was out of this world as was the choice of breads and cereal, and fruit.

Lovely place to stay, great veggie breakfast as well. Lovely library to read in and tv lounge . Nice quiet spot. Can recommend to anyone. Porlock is a good walk away and it's a lovely village with shops for all.

This is a fabulous location, quite quirky like the American landlady. Beautiful gardens and lovely warm outdoor hot tub complete with unbreakable wine goblets (you supply the wine). Victorian house, great views down to the sea, top breakfast with tastiest mushrooms ever.

I brought a group of mountain bikers here to stay for our uplift weekend. As soon as you approach the house it's extremely impressive, sitting nestled in the Hawkcombe forest. The rooms are superb, some with amazing views and some with elegant interiors. Our host was extremely convivial, we were shown around and the various aspects of Glen Lodge were... More

Although it is a little outside the village & up a narrow winding lane, the Glen Lodge is worth the visit. Being a Victorian building, it retains the olde world charm coupled with modern facilities. Views do vary from room to room & the stairs are quite steep & narrow to the top but the rooms are a decent size... More

Can't fault it, the location and accommodation are fantastic and breakfast varied and delicious. A very special place. Complete with a chorus of tawny owls outside. The owners accommodated our slightly demanding requirements and were very helpful.

Glen Lodge was just perfect! Fabulous location in the stunning village of Porlock. The apartment is open plan living, with a separate bedroom, and had everything we needed. The main living space had a fantastic view of the sea, which would be the first thing I did on waking each morning - opening the door, letting the fresh air in... More
