Myself and my wife spent many a fantastic evening here a few years ago whilst on holiday. Therefore we made a special effort to go back when again visiting in the area. Our visit lasted less then half an hour. We went on an early sunday evening looking for food and a few drinks. Upon arrival we were told the... More

Great place. Well liked by village it seems. Friendly and helpful staff. Tiny issue which may have been entirely my stupidity... in avoiding a room with the bath in the bedroom i selected a room with a private bathroom thinking this meant en suite. In fact, not the case as a private bathroom meant one across the corridor with a... More

Having spent a week in this rather stunning area of Somerset I happened upon this pub. When you walk in you are greeted by a very ascetically pleasing bar and dinning area, the menu is beyond reasonable as I had starter, main, and desert for all under fifty pound. The value for quality is second to none easily and they... More

We recently visited this lovely pub to celebrate my sons 21st birthday. We had arranged to stay in Lyme Regis for a long weekend and were looking for somewhere a bit special to have dinner. This restaurant ticked all the boxes. The pub itself was gorgeous, with a lovely atmosphere, and the food was fab. All four of us tried... More

We stayed here on a family recommendation. It's a lovely pub with beautiful rooms and very friendly staff. There is a good wine list and a choice or local cider and ale. We found it difficult to choose from the short menu as they all looked good - but the mac cheese and fish stood out and the chocolate dessert... More

This is our third stay at the Lord Poulett and once again it was superb. We stayed for two nights and ate in the restaurant both nights. Service and food was spot on. The only dampener was the officious male member of the waiting on staff on our second night. This dour gentlemen made us feel rather uncomfortable noisily rearranged... More

We stayed here for one night in April 2014, a few days after our wedding. From the outset the service was excellent, all of the staff we spoke to were chatty and helpful. Our room was very pretty with an extremely comfortable bed! Our bathroom was across the hallway, but as it was quiet this didn't cause any problems. We... More

We often end up in this beautiful part of the country and this is probably my favourite pub anywhere! We were very excited to have the opportunity to stay over for a night recently. The food, decor, atmosphere, breakfast and staff are all absolutely wonderful! We had a room at the far end of the corridor and it was beautiful!... More

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Lord Poulett Arms over a weekend in February 2014. We got the feeling that the inn is located pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but since we were driving (from London) this was not a big problem. The rooms (or at least the room we had) are quirky and personal even thought... More

Our friends, who live locally, introduced us to this pub, which we really enjoyed. It was amazingly busy for a Tuesday lunchtime - it seems we should have booked. Cream of turnip soup was a hit (yes, really!) and all the dishes were good and very plentiful portions. Otter ale on draught. Perhaps the best thing of all was the... More
